I spent a few weeks in Nicaragua and participated in the Spanish Ya Language School in Novemeber 2008. I absolutely loved it. I had 1-on-1 Spanish classes daily, completely flexible schedule to fit your routine and an individually appropriate curriculum that is also very flexible. I learned an incredible amount of Spanish both grammar and conversational, as well as medical Spanish to fit my personal career. I lived at the school, in a private room with bathroom that was perfect, 3 delicious meals a day, interacted closely with the family who runs the school-- they are warm and wonderful. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking to learn Spanish, take individually guided one-on-one Spanish classes, and be encouraged to speak Spanish all the time with your teacher and the family. I also incorporated frequent surfing trips into my experience, which was very convenient. The school is located in San Juan del Sur, great location, very close to the beach.

I learned a ton of Spanish in my two weeks with Spanish Ya in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. Their style of teaching was wonderful. The teachers used words I could understand and continually built up my vocabulary with new sentences and phrases. The host family is great, the rooms and food was excellent. I would recommend the program to people at any level of Spanish. I will definitely return on my next trip to Nicaragua.
