“Fun and affordable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

This is a nice place to go with a small or medium sized group. It is an actual gas station, that was creatively re-vamped into an up and coming restaurant/bar.
The menu has something for everyone and is pleasantly priced.
They offer live music.. we have not been there during the music sessions.
It is a popular hang out for all ages.

One word.. the lighting can be a bit dim... so be prepared.

“Save your money, go ANYWHERE besides the Gas Station !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012 via mobile

Save your money and go somewhere else ! You will get 100% more customer service in ANY OTHER bar/restaurant. We ordered 24 wings and ended up waiting an hour and a half for our food to arrive. The only reason we went to the Gas Station was because we had received a voucher earlier that day for 37 cent wings. When we got the bill they charged us 50 cents per wing so we asked to talk to the manager. The owner came out and refused to give us the price advertised on his website (Which is false advertisement). When we told him we were disappointed in the service the owner literally laughed in our face! We will never return to the Gas Station. The owner was very disrespectful and was not someone who should be running a business.

“Sorely needed in the area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

The Hershey area desperately needs more decent restaurants. There are a couple of fine bar food type places and generic chains but not many that don't fall into those categories. Gas Station is on their way to being the best at filling that need. I'm sure a lot of people in the area don't get the "gastropub" since the Hershey/Hummelstown area isn't exactly on the cutting edge of the culinary world. But, if people give it a shot and accept it for what it should be (a place to get good drinks and have good food in a relaxed atmosphere), I am sure this place will do well. And the restaurant is almost there. There are a couple improvements they could make. One, decide whether you are a sports bar or gastropub. Or better yet drop the whole sports bar side of things. There are enough of those around. This place doesn't need a 10ft projector screen playing football in the dining room. In fact, it's ridiculous that it does. Two, pick up the service just a little bit. Servers could be more knowledgeable about the food and drinks and a little more professional. Three, boost the quality of the drink program. A gastropub must have quality craft beers and well-made cocktails. Their beer list is run of the mill, and the few cocktails they offer could be executed much better and with higher-quality liquor. Four, be a little more unique with the food and up the quality a bit. The items we had were all pretty good (and better than pretty much any other place in the area...high end places like the circular dining room notwithstanding) but they could go further if they tried. In summary, a very good restaurant that is distinctive in the area but could be a destination place if they up the quality in a few areas. I'll be sure to go back whenever I'm back in town visiting the family.

“Neighbor bar with a twist”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

You can find a little bit of everything here at the Gas Station. From a delicious dinner choice to great wood fire pizza and sandwiches can be had here. They also make great homemade desserts. Stop by you won't be disappointed. Tonight was busy and dinner did take longer to be served.

“our favorite in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

the place always exceeds our expectations we have been working through the menu and continue to be amazed at the consistent high quality of each item we have ordered. You just cannot go wrong from the special entrees to the fish and chips, burgers and fries, classic reuben or the desserts. You might drive by given the unusual exterior, but stop once and you will be hooked.
