This is by far one of the nicest campgrounds I have ever been to! We stayed here with the girl scouts in June 2012. The area we picked to camp had nice soft grass and it was right next to a picnic table and very close to the bathrooms. Just down the hill was the bus stop, pools, playground and a little stream. We were only here 1 night, but I can't wait to bring the kids back! There is a train that runs through the campground, but it helped me sleep! It didn't bother me at all and we were very close to the track. The bus runs every few minutes and its a short distance to the park. The kids played on the playground while we set up the tent, but we were unable to use the pool with so short of time. There are several restaurants in the close vicinity. The bathrooms were very clean and well taken care of. They also offer kid activities during the day. I was very impressed with this place! Can't wait to go back!

The title says it all. This was our first stay at Highmeadow Campground and we were very pleased. We were warned when we made the reservations about the train, but in a camper you could not hear a thing.
Employees were constantly about cleaning up the campground. The restroom/shower area were very clean as well.
I do not believe the pool is heated, so it was a bit chilly when you first entered the water.
We were very pleased and are already planning our next trip back.

We stayed at the campground for father's day 2012. The perks with Hershey Park are great! We walked by everybody in the morning for the sweet starts and got our daughter on a ride early! The bathrooms are very clean and well kept. Staff is very friendly. Overall we loved everything about this campground except for the noise. The train, which everybody knows about is loud. The biggest complaint I had was the industrial/quarry activity across the swatara creek all hours of the night. Constant heavy machinery activity made it very annoying to sleep at night. We kept the AC on the second night to drown out the sound even though it was 60 degrees outside. Overall an OK camping experience...question is whether the benefits with Hershey outweigh the noise all night (forgot to mention the campsite of women partying to late night and yelling)

We have been guests here before yes there are trains. Down the street they make Hershey bars! Duh!!!! They really are not that bothersome. My only con is we were there on memorial weekend and the bath houses were very busy and the cleaning staff could have kept up with them better. We love staying the staff is super nice and helpful shuttle buses to Hershey park and sweet start are a great bonus! Best way to stay in Hershey not overpriced like Hershey lodge or the Hershey hotel! Already rebooked for more summer weekends

We stayed here in one of the new, fully furnished cabins on Memorial Day weekend. This was our 4th stay at the campgrounds. The new built cabins are really nice. We had #23. It was clean and the kitchen was well supplied with everything necessary for cooking. Much more simple than having to cook outdoors. The air conditioning during the extreme heat was such a relief. The cabins could certainly use more hooks and shelving to hold items that you don't want on a cabin floor. They say that the cabin sleeps 7. Well, there are only 4 bathroom hooks for towels. AND, if you plan on 2 people sleeping on the sofa bed, good luck! My husband and I slept on that sofa bed for 3 nights and it is the most uncomfortable. A blow up air bed on the floor would be a better choice! Also, the trains! OMG! All night long! They sound as though they are coming through the cabin! Staying onsite is very convenient to be able to use their transportation. Their most highly advertised onsite benefit is one hour early admission. What a joke that is!! There is only a small area of the park that is open; the rest is still chained off. In the small section, there are 4 (FOUR!) rides open. The new coaster was not one of them!!! On Saturday they opened the que at 9:00, but did not run the ride until 10:00. On Sunday, they opened the que at 9:30 and ran the ride at 10:00. That was so wrong! So getting in one hour early is no huge benefit at all. Hershey Park is a fun, family destination and staying on site at the campground makes it affordable. I would recommend it.

Me and my husband, and our friends spontaneously, decided to go to hershey park for the weekend, rather than our regular trip to the white mountains, NH. We left, not sure where we were going. We found ourselves at the Hershey Highmeadow Campground, and I am so happy we landed here. The campground was a normal family campground, with a swimming pool, arcade, showers etc. Pennslyvania is a beautiful place, and this campground was gorgeous, surrounded by cow fields, and green grass (like no where else). The offered busses, to and from Hershey Park, and the campground, and sold tickets at the site. I was very pleased with our stay =]
