“good food great beer!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

I love the Abbey. they have probably about 30 beers on draft with quite a variety. the food is fresh and always changing. I particularly love the NaBrassa sampler. All the meat that NaBrassa offers but just a little of each. Actually, when I order this sampler I take home the left overs and I get two more meals out of it! Can't beat that!

“We Visit Each Time We Are In The Area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Menu for food and beer is tremendous. Our favorite is the Lobster Mac & Cheese...YUM! It is even better with a flight of assorted beers. They always have a fabulous assortment of seasonal brews.

“Great atmosphere, great beer, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

I was pleasantly surprised because I was expecting this place to be like every other pub I had ever been too. Somehow this place was able to stick out in a good way. The beer list is quite sophisticated and somewhat unique, lots of great choices. The food is very good for the price, an excellent value. The atmosphere is a mix of upscale, comfortable, Irish pub, German beer hall, and sports bar. Somehow they manage to roll all of those things into something that just works. They do get pretty busy which can cause the service to suffer slightly, but not enough to complain about. The food might not be the fanciest you've ever seen, but who cares? It's delicious, the portions are large, and it's definitely not over-priced! I'm almost relieved that some people seem to not care for it; that means it'll be easier for me to get a table next time I go!

“NOT a "gastro pub"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Dined here twice. First time, ate sliders and the charcuterie plate. Nice experience with good service and solid beer and whiskey selection. Second time, with large group, several of us tried menu items that did not sound like typical bar food. Big mistake! This is clearly a place to drink and eat sandwiches. Service is fine...no complaints here...just try and mentally remove the "gastro" from the description of the food.

“Great Beer - Average Food; Not as Good as the Hype”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

The Iron Abbey boasts of over 300 beers - that's great if you're going for a beer. Food is pedestrian at best. After being told of "no wait" we waited 45 minutes - and ultimately in excess of 1 /1/2 hours to be seated on Saturday night. The food is simply not worth the wait - the Pub is a great pub atmosphere meaning loud and crowded. Don't come here if you want decent food or want to hear your or anyone else in your party talk. Manager tried to be a good sport - bottom line was we still waited for over 90 minutes and his "niceness" was tempered by arrogance.
