We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at Schrute Farms over Christmas. We learned how to build 4-legged tables as well as 3-legged tables and stools. Dwight made this a wonderful learning experience for us, as well as his socially-awkward brother, Mose, who's quite handy with the lathe - despite only having 3 and a half fingers on each hand.
Upon graduating to the more advanced class, we built "Goat Milk Tables" which is akin to what most of us refer to as " coffee tables". Regardless, Dwight was quite insightful to let us know these tables are multi-functional in use and pretty much any type of beverage can go on it......he was RIGHT!!
While getting up in the middle of the night to go outside to use the outhouse was a bit of a pain, Dwight reminded us of the number one plague the Union Armies suffered during the Civil War was that of urinary tract infections and hemorrhoids since they often didn't have any place at all to go and relieve themselves. This only emboldened our Christmas spirit and we paused to give thanks for the outhouse.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone without kids or pets. Also, if you are pregnant or suffer from heart palpitations, diarrhea, nausea, allergies to sawdust, or motion-sickness, there's another B&B about 4 miles due east of Schrute Farms that might be better suited for you.
