My wife and I were particularly taken by the beet maze, which provided hours of confusing wrong turns and guffaws at every miscue. Although we were two hours late for lunch as a result of becoming disoriented in the maze, the kitchen and wait staff readily and uncomplainingly prepared and served us the day's specialty, a beet croque monsieur with a side of beet fries. Accompanying the meal was a foxy, yet somehow lateritic vintage beet wine (from the previous Tuesday, according to Sommelier Butus Fleedmeier, who doubles as a lathe turner in the table making shop).
Also memorable were the seminars conducted at the late afternoon happy hours. Among the subjects we found exceptionally fascinating were (1) Eighteen creative uses for your elbow; (2) Make your spastic colon work for you; and (3) How to be happy, though married.
We shall return for another stay when our therapist approves.
