Schrute Farms is an amazing get away. Anyone who loves the smell of farms...you're in for a treat. The service is also great. Except for the weird man named Mose that kept knocking on our door to ask if we needed to go to the bathroom. The story time was a nice touch, even if it took well over three hours for the owner (Dwight Schrute) to finish Harry Potter and the Prisonor of Azkaban. Over all a great stay.

The natural aroma of the beets drifts into the bedrooms and makes you dream of simpler times. The dawn goose walk will tug at your heart strings. Table making never seemed so possible. You will never want to leave your room. The architecture reminds one of a quaint Tuscan beet farm.

  • Liked — the attentiveness of the staff (especially Mose)
  • Disliked — the late night moaning

"Guten tag" was all Dwight had to say and I was sold on Schrute Farms! I stayed in the Nighttime Room, which was delightfuly dark. The fact that it had no light or windows really added to the nighttime mood, which was further enhanced by a strange, eerie noise evocative of a grown man crying in the dark. I asked Dwight about it later but he said it was nothing. Mose's tablemaking demonstration was very instructive. I loved when he and Dwight got into a fight and started throwing splinters at each other. It was even more entertaining that the manure battle the two of them had during the beet planting demo. Overall, this bed and breakfast - or rather agroturist destination - was very educational and enjoyable!

Henry David Thoreau had Walden and now I have Schrute Farms. 3 rooms, each with a different theme (America, Irrigation, Nighttime). I took Irrigation , and it was beautiful. The twin mattress was comfortable. The smell of manure and beets really makes you experience life. I enjoyed the Tuscan style wine they served us, made of beets and sugar, truly wonderful. The host read me and my girlfriend a book entitled "Star Wars Story: Hans Solo" and we fell asleep to his beautiful voice. When we woke up, we had some fat back bacon and egg whites, it was delicious. Then the servant named Mose treated us to some manure-toss, truly magnificent.

I couldn't speak any higher of this place.
