“Forebay is to Foreplay as Wine is to Cheese”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

We called ahead and made a reservation for 20. Yes 20 and they were more than accommodating. Our waitress (Diamond) was just that a precious gem. She was extremely attentive especially for such a large group and having to deal with the young and old, the picky to the nonchalant characters in our group.
She took the kids orders first which is always highly recommended since we spent a long exhausting day at Hershey Park with no lunch we were glad to see that special attention was paid to the most important of guests.
#1 - PRETZEL BREAD..... MMMMMMM by far the best bread option served to me at a restaurant. Although we were given spicy brown mustard not Honey mustard which I actually prefer to be honest.
#2 FOOD - best plates of the evening Lamb Chops, Filet Mignon, Seafood Stew. All cooked to perfection. Kids Mac n Cheese with a side of fruit no complaints there. Seasonal Sam Adams to wash everything down. (only one negative. Dry Rub Ribs and they MEAN DRY. stay away from that item. however they promptly replaced it with an excellent dish and very quickly)
#3 Dessert - Milkshakes were the winner here homemade and delish.
management was complimentary of our group and very attentive to all the commotion we thought we caused :) Def would suggest this place to eat if you are staying in Hershey or just passing through. They even changed the TV to the football game for our boys who were missing a little action during the day! What more can we say The Forebay was our Foreplay!

“Drink was ok food horrible”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

I had a beet colored boiled egg, it was one of those preboiled eggs from a bag, It was hard.
They ran out of soup of the day and mustered a crab soup by using a batch of weak veggie soup that they place 3 bits of crab on top. Hummus with cauliflower was tasteless, trout plain.

The place is loud. Food was not up to par. Dining in Hershey lodge is very disappointing
I heard a baby in here late at night...ugh

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

We ate hear both nights on our stay because we enjoyed it so much the first night. We were a party of 8 with kids ranging from 9-13. Everyone finished everything on their plates. Some of the entrees we enjoyed were the scallops, filet, lamb chops, pasta and burgers,

“Fabulous dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013 via mobile

Delicious meal tonight at The Forebay. Our server, Terrell, was excellent, very attentive and even spoke to the chef for me about how I wanted my ribs prepared, which were delicious by the way. Very happy with our service, our meal, and the atmosphere.

“Only good place at Hershy Lodge to eat.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013 via mobile

I am more about a 3.5 with the overall place including the food. Food was good. A lot better quality then the other places at the Lodge. Atmospher was cozy and the waitress pleasant. The mussels on the appetizer menu were really good.
