“Not great, not horrible....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2011

I expected this to be a bare-bones basic hotel, and it was. The unexpected downsides were the lobby garbage can completely covered in ants, and they did not provide (or even sell) shampoo. That said, it was less than half the cost of neighboring hotels, and I'd probably return if I was in the same situation. If you can afford better, do it, but if looking for cheap, this fits the bill.

Getting an extra pillow was like pulling teeth, and no rollaway beds available.

It is VERY convenient to Hershey park! Wi-fi worked very well, and is free.

This is a well situated 1-2 star motel in a tourist town. Rooms have TV with digital cable and free wireless internet, but no frills to be sure: no alarm clock, no iron, etc. The advertisment reads, "Completley renovated April 2011." I fear for those who stayed at this place prior to the supposed renovation! Maybe a coat of paint and some new carpeting?

The owners are very nice, but the rooms are low budget. I guess you get what you pay for, but next time I will budget a bit more for a hotel and stay at a different place.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms smell of smoke or must. Had to be assertive to get a different room.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2011 via mobile

Stayed here for 2 nights this week. Location is perfect for Hershey Park. Owners are very nice and place is definitely clean. Even though the property has been recently "renovated" it should be noted that that means paint and carpet only, at least as far as we could tell. It looked like the carpet and linens were found at a 1970's outlet. The only thing that was really bad were the beds though. They were rock hard and it felt like we were sleeping on a box spring.

Overall it the price, service and location made it all worth while, but I don't think we would stay there again.

Thank you for your response! Please know we are newly renovated as of MAY 2011, our front desk is advised to let our guests know that we are still waiting on new bedding and drapes, so you are absolutely correct in the drapes (i think u said carpet but drapes is what you probably mean) are from the 1970's :) We hope you give us another try in the coming future as and when the new updates are made with the bedding and drapes to fully live up to your expectations. I will personally be glad to host you and your family. Thanks again!

At first, we were very apprehensive about booking a room at the Motel 6, but it turned out to be great. The rooms are outdated and old, but it was clean enough. It isn't fancy by any means, but was a perfect place to stay for such a little amount. It was a fun time!

My Girlfriend and I have been coming to this Motel 6, for 5 yrs, it is great there, we get the same room, and the location is great to, now we go to Hershey every year to the Joyce Meyer Conference at the Gaint Center, the location from the Gaint Center to the Hotel, is great, it only takes us 3 or 4 minutes to and from our Hotel, and we take the back round so there is very little traffic, plus there are great places to eat, I would recommend this Hotel to every one. we are going back this Summer.

This is the kind of hotel you would pick if you purely JUST needed a place to rest your head at night. It was obviously old, and the rooms need updating. The hotel is "quaint," but the rooms were not. The building I was in:
-the ice machine was old, and in the far corner of the basement. The hallway down there is just creepy
-the "closet" consisted of a metal bar under the tv shelf in the corner
pros:
-there was a small fridge in the room
-the sheets seemed very clean
-there is a pool

The hotel overall was just... eh. It definitely wasn't great by any means, and it seemed to just be "enough to pass codes." I don't know. I hate to talk bad about anything, but several times I was tempted to find a different hotel.

I booked a stay here and guaranteed it with a credit card. We got there about midnight and was given a room in the basement. There was no air conditioner in the room, the room had a terrible smell and I don't know what kind of mattresses they had, but they were paper thin. The manager was very nice about the whole thing and offered me a full refund, however, I had to find a hotel/motel at 1:00 in the morning for myself and four children. Finally, we got a room at the Comfort Inn for a ridiculously high price, but at that point, I had no choice but to pay for it.
