“What a beautiful place to visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

This was our second visit to Hershey Gardens, it was even better this time and we really loved the rose garden, the arboretum an all other aspects, very well kept and a shear pleasure to walk through, huge selection of plants, all very interesting. There is some entertainment for the kids too so you can safely bring them as well.

“Rose gardens are really something!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Hershey Gardens is good for about a two hour visit, although rose enthusiasts will probably want to be there all day. There is the Milton Hershey rose named for the founder. I particularly liked the Mr. Lincoln rose. There are Oriental style and herb gardens, too. Children seem particularly interested in the wind toys, like pinwheel flowers.

We were a little disappointed by the Butterfly house in the Children's Garden. It was small and many of the breeds of butterflies were in the process of being restocked. (Magic Wing in Massachusetts is the real deal.)

The gift shop stayed true to the garden theme: flowers on stained glass, children's garden and insect books, etc.

There is a little lunch counter in a tiny building just outside of the gift shop that has reasonably priced wraps & sandwiches.

All in all, Hershey Gardens was a lovely way to end our vacation.

“Our Favorite Non-amusement!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

We love including this in our Hershey pilgrimage each year! The gardens are easy to visit, beautifully maintained, and have a great blend of adult and kid attractions. Best thing though, you can smell the chocolate factory from the rose garden!

“Relaxing Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Sitting next to Hotel Hershey and in ear and eye shot of Hershey Park, the Hershey Gardens will provide you with a relaxing atmosphere. Nicely manicured gardens and trails. Went towards closing (which was nice since it wasn't crowded at all) but missed out on the Butterfly House (closes at 5pm so go earlier if you'd like to experience that). Admission price of $10 should be cheaper after 5:00 but that is just my opinion.

You'll snap a free dozen photos when you are at this place and you will walk over a mile so have those walking shoes on. Do not go when it's too hot, otherwise you will not have an enjoyable experience. There's a small dining cart located outside the entrance with some picnic tables but that is also closed after 5:00.

“Beautiful, with children's garden and activities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

We had an extra day during our multiple day stay in Hershey and decided to visit the Hershey Gardens. We specifically visited the Children's Garden with our 10 year old daughter. There is a small fee, but there was a scavenger-type mystery hunt that if a child finds everything on the sheet, they get to pick out a quality child-sized garden tool (shovel, rake, hoe). The butterfly garden within a screened in area was really nice. Tons of butterflies! There were interactive areas throughout the garden, including some nice Hershey-inspired sculptures. This is very well-kept garden. As a bonus, you have a fantastic view of HersheyPark, since the gardens are way up on a hill above the park. The Hershey Inn (pricey resort) is very close to the 40-acre gardens. I definitely recommend this for families with kids.
