“A fun stopover!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2014

We were picking up a Golden Retriever puppy near Lancaster. Thought it would be nice to break up our 9 hour drive (one way) by treating our boys to Chocolate World & a couple of nights at Hershey Lodge. Chose this hotel because it was less formal than Hershey Hotel. The atmosphere was much nicer in the lobby/lounge area with a large fireplace. It is also a much larger hotel and more activities for children. We did park near our room which was nice for when we needed to load and unload car. But we were also close enough to walk either outside or inside back to the lobby area or to the fitness center/pool. We did book our room the night we arrived as the trip was very last minute. The room was tucked in between many cheer teams and wrestling teams that it was a tad noisy. I probably would have requested a room closer to lobby had I planned well in advance. Service was great. And we had just enough time to visit Chocolate World, The Hershey Story Museum & the zoo. All were worth a visit. Although being a former zookeeper/Aquarist, the zoo wasn't up to my usual standards and should be improved. If we ever return to Hershey, i would stay at the lodge again.

Room Tip: ***Make sure you aren't staying in a room tucked in between cheerleading teams and wrestlers. I...

Unique look and experience for a hotel. Good as a conference hotel - I was there for a conference. However, I can see it being really awesome for a family stay. Very clean. Very friendly staff. Forebay restaurant has great food.

Room Tip: Request a room close to what is most important to you because it is a very large facility. If you w...

Hershey Lodge was one of the most beautiful resort hotels we've ever been in. SInce it was winter, we didn't get to use the outside areas. We were welcome with a chocolate bar! The spa and the little shops were fun to visit.
We were disappointed that the hotel didn't inform us that the indoor pool was closed. The pool was one of the reason we chose this hotel. They offered to let us use another hotel's pool, but it was really cold outside for travel in a wet swimsuit.

Room Tip: ask for a room that overlooks the swim area.

The Hershey Lodge is a great place for families. It's a large rambling facility that is friendly, clean and very comfortable. However, because of it's size we were constantly getting lost; there were just so many wings and ways to get from one location to the next. There were a lot of families (there was a cheer competition going on that weekend), but it didn't feel too loud or overcrowded. On site are restaurants, a gift shop, a bar, and an indoor pool. The pool was closed for renovation but the restaurant was nice, the gift shop was large and well stocked with hershey souvenirs. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to visitors with families/

The Hershey Lodge would be a great place for a family stay. We were there for a conference and I was pleased that the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable- not hard like a board. The hotel is huge and if you are placed in the last wing, like us, you will have a LONG walk back to the lobby, conference center, or restaurants. Be aware that this is a family hotel and many people book there for sporting and other events. On the weekend almost every room on our floor was filled with "very active" children in town for a dance competition. So if it's a romantic or quiet get away you're looking for, book the Hershey Hotel.
Skip the Hershey Grill except for a quick bite. No atmosphere inside and mediocre food.

Room was extremely small for the price, but it was impressively clean. The bed was very comfortable. I personally did like that we were on a first floor room with an outside entrance. Multiple Wings are very long and very spread out. Harder than it should have been to find your way around. Staff could use a little charm. Food prices expensive. It was very noisy in the halls, as others have said, but did not continue late into the night. I was there for a conference paid by my employer, would likely not stay there on my own accord.

Great rooms, clean, the staff is horrible the maintenance department argues with guests that get stuck on an elevator for no reason at all. If you try to talk to management they will try to help you by shoving a drink down your throat with no solution to the real problem... I will do everything in my power to make sure no one from my county or entire state ever come to this place.. As a fellow Tripadvisor reviewer with decent reviews please head this warning if you come to hershey stay at the Holiday Inn.. Couldn't get much worse...
