“Very nice full service hotel very near to all the Hershey attractions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014

Deciding to splurge on a full service hotel instead of our usual budget-friendly hotel choice was a great plan for this long weekend getaway! Everything start to finish was great. The front desk staff was helpful. The concierge was helpful. The rooms are not huge, but they are certainly fine, nicely decorated and comfortable beds. The lobby with the fireplace was a nice place to meet up with others in our group. It was also very quiet and restful.

Stayed at the Hershey lodge on January 18th with my fiance for a quick getaway. It was affordable, comfortable, and quaint. There is plenty to do on the grounds, and we could get to most of the restaurants and the pool without going outside! The indoor pool is lovely, with lifeguards and very generous hours, even in the winter. The lobby area has a true lodge feel. Would be a great place to go with a group or even have a different sort of "destination" wedding. I especially recommend this for families!

If you're staying for a convention or meeting that happens to be held here, it's not bad, especially if someone else is picking up the bill.
Start with the cons.
The rooms are small. The hotel website tells you that the less expensive rooms ($179 and over per night, depending on date) are 305 square feet. What they don't tell you is that there's a 10 foot, unusable corridor between the room and the inner doors and a rather small bathroom. So you're staying in a room that's about the size of a master bedroom in a typical ranch style house.
The decor seems outdated. It's hard to tell if the furnishings are worn or if they're meant to look like antiques.
The free internet seems slow, about what you get from a poor DSL. It's adequate for e-mail but don't plan on serious surfing. Cable TV's not bad.
We had breakfast and dinner buffets set up for our group so I can't tell you if the hotel restaurants are on a par. The food was adequate (desserts, all chocolate or caramel based, were awesome) but I did find out what the per person costs were. We had groups of 30 so I assume we got a special deal. IMO, not worth what we paid.
The bars (there are three) are expensive. Depending on what groups are in for meetings or conventions, they can be either boring or lively. You take your chances.
On the plus side, the beds were quite comfortable, shower hot water was abundant and the staff was polite and helpful.
If you're coming, with the family, for a vacation in Hershey, you can do better for less money. For conventions and meetings, not bad, but that's mostly because of the excellent convention facilities.

Room Tip: Entire hotel is non-smoking. if you're a smoker, ask for a room with an outside door (those room...

The Hershey Hotel is a hotel that is used a lot by people coming to Hershey Park and other Hershey attractions, as well as having a convention center.
The rooms are well kept up, but some are slightly dated and some are quite a long ways from the convention facilities.
The lobby is very pretty, with a big fireplace.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not too far from the convention center if you are having a meeting there. Ou...

Driving through a winter storm- coming into the hershey lodge was a warm welcome- I was asked if the trip was ok during weather,- I stated I felt a bit chilled. I proceeded to my room and within 5 minutes two hot chocolates arrived to help brush away "the chill". Dinner at the forebay was superb. Everyone was friendly and very helpful- if I am ever in this area again- hershey lodge is a definite return

We've stayed here several times and thoroughly enjoy it. We check in early, even if our rooms aren't available, change into our tennis duds or bathing suits and start enjoying. Miniature golf, tennis courts, snack area, game room, gym, indoor pool, outdoor pool. (even for toddlers) Then we go to our room which are always clean and very nice. The kids love the Hershey Bars awaiting them. By staying in the hotel you are able to enter the Hershey Amusement Park early, ask your teens, this is really exciting for them. Also, since so many people come for the day, by sunset the park is not full at all and you are able to jump on your favorite rides easier and its not as hot, this is probably the best aspect of staying on Hershey's properties for your kids, for the adults YOU HAVE TO TRY THE HERSHEY KISS Martini!!!! The whole family will be busy for your stay and those of you who want to sit by the pool for a few hours then go back to the amusement park when the sun goes down, this is a great perk. They also have transportation back and forth which alleviates the parking issues.

Room Tip: you can use the Hershey Hotel for their spa too!

I stayed here to attend a banquet and got association rate which was cheaper than the advertised rate. The staff was very friendly and upon checking in they handed me 2 Hershey chocolate bars. My room was very nice and accommodating with flat screen tv and a remote called a clean remote. My room also had a refrigerator a hair dryer a clothes iron. Bathroom was very clean and modern with plenty of towels and toiletries. Bed sheets had the Hershey kisses logo all over them and very they were very luxurious. The have a indoor pool and restaurants all under one roof that you could spend the entire weekend here and never have to leave.
