“Hershey Lodge - Family Visit - July 20112”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Great facility! Seems like it was an older unit (I don't know that for a fact) but it was definitely refurbished. Very clean common areas...several nice restaurants on campus and a nice (but slightly expensive...to be expected) souvenir shop. Frequent shuttles to and from the park. Meal package was definitely worth the money...Good breakfast, Great Dinner...lunch was kind of weak. Hershey characters visited the hotel fairly often (which freaked my daughter out).

Getting to the room while coming through the recommended back doors (parking lot) was slightly confusing.

Staff were pleasant and helpful.

We had a basic two queen bed room but it was very nice and sparkly clean.

We would stay again if an amusement park trip came up again. It was like a mini-Disney vacation.

I've been staying here for years and its consistently wonderful! The Bears Den is ok for a quick bite and drink. Atmosphere of the hotel is amazing. It's so beautiful.....especially the massive fireplace. Love it! Always exceptionally clean with amazingly polite staff.

The ginormous stone fireplace with a crackling fire is the jewel of the Lobby. The rooms were very clean and check-in was fast. They give each person a Hershey bar as you check-in and the housekeeping leaves you kisses in your room. At the Bear's Den restaurant they also send you on your way with kisses. This is my third time here and always a good experience. Beware if you are directionally challenged or just really tired the buildings are a maze of hallways and doors. It's like an Amish farmhouse that as the family grows they just add onto the first house. So expect to walk quite a bit inside the Lodge. They need to add more and larger signage and some more covered walkways between the buildings. Also, the building we were in, Q, the insulation between rooms was not good and there were several crying children. So if you're sound sensitive you might need earplugs which is what my daughter did. We ask at the front desk but you have to purchase them in the gift shop. The coffee cafe was great for breakfast.

Stayed here as a part of the Halloween in Hershey package in October 2012 and loved it! We love walking into the lobby at check in and smelling the chocolate and receiving a Hershey's Bar with our room keys. The whole feel of the lobby is so cozy and welcoming with the fire place and comfy chairs. Also, partaking in the package makes it more affordable for us since the tickets to the park, gardens and Hershey Story Museum, and breakfast are included!

This year our room was a little bit further away from the lobby (we stayed in the Reese's wing) but we were able to walk through different parts of the hotel to get to lobby without having to go outside. We were close to the indoor pool, which we didn't use, but looked busy. The Lodge has a great shuttle to and from Hershey Park, which makes getting to the park so easy. We absolutely love the Halloween Breakfast that comes with the Halloween in Hershey package! The theme is adorable and food is very good, even though this year it seemed harder to get pancakes. The three of us are all 18+ but we enjoy taking pictures with the characters and taking in the theme. We'll be back again next year!

We love the Hershey Lodge. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful. This is our 3 or 4th time having stayed at the lodge and we will stay again. We have always stayed in the fall or winter seasons, so I don't know what it is like in the summer. There is just not any other hotel (other than a disney property maybe), that I have wanted to hang out in the lobby and just relax, soaking up the scene. There are great kids activities. The food at the character brunch, Hershey grill and the coffee house were excellent! We used the shuttle service this time and that worked out well. The Hershey Story (museum) is well done and worth a visit.

A beautiful lodge, very attentive staff, and good food. Very nice rooms, large and fully equipped, right down to the chocolate scented shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer. Hershey Kisses on the pillow would have been a nice touch, but did not get, oh well. Still a very nice lodge.

Stayed here for a conference and did not sample the delights of Hershey so can only comment on the hotel. Standard, nothing special. Lobby and even the shampoo smelt of chocolate which becomes wearing after a while. Conference facilities OK, but unexceptional. Wouldn't choose to stay here for leisure
