“Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

Location is now 531 S Poplar - great food - owner/chef Sally is very creative - unfortunately a drunk driver crashed into the front of the building on 5/25/13 so it will be undergoing repairs for a while - bummer for those who love this popular eatery.

“Best breakfast in Hazleton, Pa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2012

My wife and I are frequent customers of The Abbey , 531 South Poplar St in Hazleton, Pa.

This is not a cheap $2.99 breakfast special place, but they have the very best food in town for breakfast.

They always have regular coffee plus a flavored coffee of the day, Expresso, etc.

My favorite dish is their Belgium Waffles with fruit toppings, Blueberry my favorite. Salley Yale, owner makes her own hot buttery fruit syrups to go on top of the waffle to enhance the flavor.

One of their egg specialties is "Bobby D's" named after a relative. Scrambled eggs....she claims three but seems like more. Mixed in are hot sausage, onions and peppers covered with a creamy hot cheese sauce. You may not need to eat the rest of the day. This is a good dish to split with someone.

Hash Browns with onions another fav.

Recently they added Quiches, several varieties served with fresh fruit. I was never much into quiches, but these are fantastic.

If ever in Hazleton, give this place a try. Sal and her staff, including her Mom will make you feel at home.
