“Wonderful Family Getaway!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

Woodloch is a great place and a wonderful getaway for our family. While this was only our 2nd time here during winter, we are hoping to make this a yearly ritual for our family. We stayed in Mt. Laurel which has wonderful rooms. You begin your stay by entering the Main Lodge which instantly makes you feel warm and welcome. The staff is amazing, the food is great and the entertainment and fun are endless. There is snow tubing, indoor bumper cars, go carts, gun shooting range, paintball, indoor playground, arcades, basketball court, crafts, game shows, bingo, pools, hot tubs, saunas, gym, walking paths, sleigh rides, beautiful Christmas lights display, ice skating (when the pond is frozen), Winter Family Olympics which consists of many games to try and win a Gold Medal. They have a night club which hosts shows, dancing and a lot of fun. They also have a spa which I heard was amazing, so that is on our list to check out during our next stay. Once you park your vehicle, there is no need to drive anywhere as the resort has free shuttle services to get you to any destination on the resort, plus depending on where you are staying, you can also walk to many areas easily. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Room Tip: We enjoy staying in Mt. Laurel. The rooms have amazing views of the lake and are very nice with kitc...

This is a magical place for us. The staff, food and entertainment is A+. We've been visiting Woodloch since 1995 and my kids have grown up there. We love it and we always recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great getaway. My in-laws just hit 28 years, my wife and I have been there for 19 years, my son (18 yrs) and daughter (17 yrs). I am positive that they won't be the last generation to visit Woodloch.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the lake are beautiful and would also recommend the suites. Love them and really take a...

Woodloch is a great place. The staff here are the most friendly people you could ever hope to find. Many of them have been working at this resort for decades and many are part of families that have been there for a couple of generations. The winter months carry a much slower pace at this place. There are tons of things to do (trap shoot contests, go carts, snow tube runs, fun games, pools for adults and kids, indoor basketball courts, bumper cars, arcades, ice skating and a ton more) but the winter crowd is usually on the senior side. The summer months open the lake and outdoor pools and the crowd is bigger and younger. The food here is delicious if you choose to partake in the meal plan. It is on the expensive side but another option would be to rent a house at the Springs located only a couple of miles away. These houses have kitchens and anyone staying there can still partake in everything else the resort has to offer. Nighttime shows are fun and well put together and the bar in the North Lodge is open pretty late. They often have karaoke or a dance party as part of the later night entertainment options.

It was a 1st time at this wonderful family resort and expect it won't be our last.

Accommodations:
While a bit inconvenient, we stay in a lovely 4 bedroom house in Woodlock Springs. It had plenty of room for our group of 7. Very clean, roomy and kids like the ping pong table!

Food:
Nice to sit at some table for our 3 day stay. Service was very friendly. We had the breakfast and dinner plan and this worked out very well.

Activities:
This is the real strength of this resort. We enjoyed snow tubing, archery, go carts, basketball, game room along with the price is right game at night.

Spa - My wife and daughters gave the SPA a 5 star review!

We hope to return in the summer to get the full Woodlock experience.

I have been meaning to write this review since April! Myself, husband, and then 13 year old son stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days during Spring break last year. I cannot say enough good things about this resort. We took advantage of a Snique Away (now Jetsetter) deal and paid slightly less than $1,000 for 3 people, updated luxury room, and all inclusive meals for 3 people. Amazing value and resort was loaded with amenities and plenty of things to do. We paid extra for several activities like paintball and it was well worth it. The food was delicious....the menu was limited but the selections were of high quality and there was something to appeal to everyone. Our waitress Patricia was especially memorable and very pleasant (I mean for me to remember her name after 9 months she must have been exceptional, right?). The shows at night were a lot of fun. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be booking again for Spring break...which is what prompted me to write this review finally!

3rd time back in 2013. Summer, Fall, Winter. First for the lake and outdoor activities, Second for my son's 30th Birthday and friend's 40th anniversary, then for my daughter's 32nd Birthday. Always friendly and no matter what the weather they provide activities to make everyone happy. This year we did for the first time the winter light festival on hayride wagons pulled through the woods, the Show and fireworks would have made Walt Disney proud (we visited Orlando 3 times).

Dear TweetyTweet1,

Thank you for sharing your review with others after another great stay. It looks like we're just missing the spring vacation to complete the four-season sweep of Woodloch! We strive to provide as much fun and entertainment as possible, no matter what the season. As you probably already know, Woodloch offers many different activities which do change along with the seasons. We are pleased to see that you were able to take advantage of the Festival of Lights on our Nature Trail, and our fireworks display out over the lake. Thank you so much for visiting us three times this past year, and cannot wait until your next visit.

I have gone a few times to woodloch with family friends who have gone for over 30 years. I will say that staying in the houses down the road is really cool, houses are spacious and you have room to relax and kick back. The activities like Olympics and field games are well put together and also fun to play...... However the big turn off was hearing people who have gone year after year after year complain about how it is just not the same. Many people understand that with the economy the way it is most people will not want to spend the 6-10,000$ it cost to stay here a week and just take a more thought out vacation because of the expense but when I saw the music club after the show and people talking about how it used to be compared to now, highly disappointing. The bar staff is great in the sports bar but forget about getting a free drink even after leaving ridiculous tips, it seems a though they are watched more than ever and if they give out one drink they will be fired... Cost of beers are a little high especially if it's not draft, I know the cost of beers, let's face it your making about a 150% profit off half the bottled beers available... The show the three I have seen have gotten worse, this Italian year theme, I mean come on, the actors and actresses were good but the whole theme made no sense, how is a football game (not futbol aka soccer) Italian!?!?, yes thought and time goes into it but I mean I took a nap, I have seen the same comedian for 3 years, he's really nice but come on, you know it's. Place where people come back, you need new material. I mean I don't know besides playing some activities, the rest seems to be more of you improvising, they have some beat things like paintball and gun shooting, but your paying extra so I mean it's not really more activities. It's hard, I really tried to like the place but I don't know, think it needs something because these younger generations after talking to many have made it pretty clear they come for their parents but as they get older and have kids, this is an expense that just can not be there for what is offered. Sorry I had to give the negative review but it had to be honest, I look at it from a outsider who was brought in by a insider and would that as much as it is fun to an extent the negatives out way the positives and it will be hard to bring in returning new customers. FYI, I understand that there are companies that have weekend outings, but post something than, it's not fair to the staff to have to be put in a position to turn you down because a company is using that specific activity.... I mean really, that's not cool

Dear Dbk58,

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide feedback about your Woodloch experience with the TripAdvisor community. While we are glad to hear that you were pleased with your accommodations and the service provided, we are sorry to learn of your disappointment with some aspects of your stay. Our goal is to provide the best vacation possible for our guests, and in the rare circumstance we fall short, it is a serious concern for us.

As you mentioned, Woodloch welcomes many guests who return year after year, and we consistently strive to provide endless entertainment for all of our visitors. We pride ourselves on frequently adding new and unique activities for our guests to enjoy while still keeping our traditional longstanding guest favorites. Each day, we provide an activity sheet with over thirty activities to choose from, and we try to include many things that would appeal to many different ages. Creating a vacation of great value and maintaining a longstanding tradition of excellence and warm hospitality is of the utmost importance to us. The typical weekend stay for a family of four is under $1,500. This price includes accommodations, meals, activities, and entertainment, which most guests find very competitive.

We thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback. Please feel free to email us at woodmark (at) woodloch (dot) com if you would like to speak with us directly. We hope that we will have the opportunity in the future to show you how we have improved and to share our hospitality with you once again.

Sincerely,

The Woodloch Family
