First the negatives because they are limited. Woodloch forces you to purchase a meal plan if you stay on property, which is expensive. The food on the first night was very good, the second day ranged from mediocre to terrible and the third day it was good. The quality is very inconsistent, although there are a lot of choices. The food isn't as healthy as we would want it to be and appeared the same Sysco food you would get in a hospital or school. The food is edible, but not of the caliber you would expect. The smart thing to do would be to utilize and even sell the local products of the surrounding farms.
Why is this food issue such a concern, well: 1) you are forced to pay top dollar for food you would expect to eat in a corporate cafeteria or hospital and 2) you are forced to go to the main lodge at set times for meals, so you loose flexibility of your schedule. If the food plan was optional and there were different places to eat, this would be the perfect family vacation. My other complaint is that Woodloch is huge! There are so many activities that you'll never be able to do them all. They give you a map, but honestly I think they should provide guided tours when you check in. It takes a while to get oriented. Also don't be put off when driving to the resort, you go through some pretty back wood towns.
Otherwise this place was awesome! Without question Woodloch's biggest assets are its employees. Bridgette who was our waitress during your entire visit was incredible. By the end of our trip I wanted to invite her over for thanksgiving -- my kids loved her, she was patient, funny and kind. It's hard to believe, but all the employees were kind, happy, accommodating, and patient. Customer service here will exceed all your expectations. The room are great, the activities are plentiful, but it is the people here that make the place great.
I didn't think there would be much for my two year old here, but I was wrong he loved it. Everyone loved it. In fact, after spending a few days here I started to miss my family members who I haven't spoken to in a while and called them. Much like Disney makes you feel like a kid this place some how instill in you the importance of family from the youngest person to the oldest. Despite the quality of the food I will come back to Woodloch, probably on an annual basis. My family had one of the most memorable times of our lives and we want to thank the management for creating a such a wonderful place.
Stay on property!!! If you have a big family and want to all stay together stay at the houses in so...

Thank you for your recent visit and thoughts on your stay.
We're happy to hear that you ultimately had a positive experience. We're very proud of our staff and it's always comforting to hear that they are up to or exceed expectations of visitors.
We do our best to try to accommodate all of our diners the best we can. We also are continuously working with food vendors to keep up with dietary trends and are slowly phasing many changes into place. We tread a fine line of serving traditional Woodloch favorites while trying to keep up with the change in times- we certainly appreciate feedback and recommendations, and you can get a hold of us at WoodmarkAtWoodlochDotCom.
We also wish to ensure that all of our guests (new ones included) are getting the most of their vacation experience from the get go. All upcoming reservations that have an email address on file are sent a "welcoming" email providing a broad layout of activities for your stay. Presently, we also offer the option of booking an "on-site" tour through out website's main page- guests are welcome to request one and our staff would be happy to show you around. If a guest wants a low key tour, our shuttle buses circle the resort and do an excellent job of presenting the lay of the land.
Again, thank you very much for the kind words and suggestions, as they are very valuable to us. Thank you for your stay, and we hope to see you soon.
