We went on Februray 1,2 & 3, 2013. Although the tempratures were very cold, we had a great time. We went with the Girl Scouts they even had patches for the girls. The evening activities were great for all ages. We spent Friday night dancing with the DJ's in the Sports Bar. The DJ's were fantastic with the kids. Taught everyone all different dances. There was also a pocket book scavenger hunt and they handed out numerous prizes. Saturday morning we participated in the Family Winter Olympic Games. The staff has tremendous energy and enthusiasum making it fun for all ages! Scoring is done in a very fair way allowing everyone an opportunity to win. Winners recieve Gold, Silver or Bronze medals for the entire team. Saturday afternoon the kids and adults signed up for the Gingerbread Wars. A competition full of family fun using creative juices to create a unique Gingerbread creation using specific items. Again giving teams an ability to win a medal. Saturday night's entertainment was very good!! The music of "The Company" was really good and enjoyed by all ages. The best was the show "All Things Italian" it was really entertaining. We were surprised that the staff who ran the afternoon Olympic Games was up on stage and extremely talented. I think we were all a little star struck! Sunday morning the girls had fun with a very competitive scavenger hunt. We later found out that if you can go on line before your vacation to check out their website www.woodlochtheedge.com where you can get hints on upcoming events and scavenger hunts. The website also posts pictures that they take during your stay. Woodloch is a family run buisness that celebrated their 55 year while we were there. The owner is present at all of the meals and the staff is always checking in to be sure that you are enjoying your stay. The food is was plentiful and delicious. The wait staff was readily available and all of the staff were friendly and pleasent. Our waitress Dawn was especially nice. The rooms were quite comfortable and clean. We had a room with two double beds and an additional room with a roll away bed also two couches and a table and chair as well as a bathroom with a shower. By far the best part I thought that was different from other places that we have stayed in, was the walk in closet in both rooms. That made all of the difference in having clear space in the living area of the rooms. Every where in the resort there were places to sit in comfortable chairs and lots of cozy fire places. The temperature was warm even in the largest spaces. They even have a Christian Worship Service Sunday morning after breakfast. The last conveinence I want to mention was the shuttle service, very handy for everyone especially families with young children and older visiters too! I highly recommend staying here anytime of the year.
