“Great food and spirits here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

Have been here several times and engaged in conversations with the owners and regulars at the bar. Everyone is very friendly here! It is a haunted place and if you are sensitive to such you will feel their presence. Talk to Steve about his stories there and at his home. Very interesting and fun!

The lobster risotto with seaweed is to die for as are the lamb chops. They have several PA beers on tap worth tasting and they pour a decent drink. We have not stayed at the Inn as we live nearby but we did look at the rooms and they are quite charming.

We stayed at the Falls Port Inn in late April. Never heard of it before. We had to stay somewhere nearby and had to bring our dog. Found the place on the web. The room was spacious, comfortable, and Incredibly clean. Steve the owner was very friendly and everyone there loved our dog. Also, the restaurant was top notch and reasonably priced for a steak house. Will definitely come back.

My fiance and I decided to stop in at this restaurant while we were visiting the Poconos for valentines day and I'm glad that we did. The experience was excellent! From the minute we walked in, we were greeted with friendliness and hospitality. We hadn't made a reservation, but it wasn't a problem. The staff found us a nice table close to the fireplace in the back dining room. Our server was very professional and was able to answer any and all questions that we had about any of the items on the menu. My fiance ordered a petite filet mignon while I myself ordered a rib eye. After the server had taken our order and gotten our drinks, the owner himself came and gave us a complimentary sample of their chocolate covered bacon. At first we were a bit wary but after the first bite we were hooked. It was amazing! Our stakes were cooked perfectly, delicious and tender. We enjoyed our experience from start to finish in this historic building, and we'll definitely be back. Thank you so much for the great food and wonderful experience!

We came up to Hawley for our 1-yr. anniversary and decided to have dinner at the Falls Port Inn based on the numerous reviews of the place. Upon walking in, we were greeted by the owner, who offered us a taste test of some new food he was trying. The dining room was actually closed due to a wine tasting that had occurred earlier in the day, but they let us sit in there anyways, so we had the entire place to ourselves for our anniversary dinner! It was absolutely beautiful, with romantic Victorian-style furnishings, a fireplace, and excellent food and wine. We ended up staying for 2 hours after we finished our meal, talking with the owner and some other regulars, all of whom were incredibly friendly and fun. We weren't staying there because we had already booked our nights at another hotel, but the rooms are amazing and the service is top-notch, so we will be sure to stay there the next time we're up in Hawley! It's certainly well worth the trip!! Thanks so much for a wonderful evening!

We spent Oct. 23th -Oct. 25th in this historic hotel. We were greeted by the owners when we first walk through the doors. They were very nice, warm and friendly to us. The Guest room was beautiful and took us back into time. The antique furnishings were very nice and help set the mood that we were staying in a early 1900's hotel. The king size bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was great with a sunken jacuzzi tub! Along with the Inn you can enjoy the restaurant and bar that are down stairs. The food was great and the drinks were right. If you like fresh cut steaks ordered to your liking this is the place for you. The night life was wonderful. The Tavern gets jumping around 9pm. The locals are wonderful to talk to and share stories until the night ends. I cant say enough good things about this place.

We stayed 2 nights. Room was beautiful & large, & price was definitely affordable. Bathroom was small, but sufficient--they hope to enlarge soon! Yes, street was noisy in the a.m.'s, but because this town goes to sleep early, you can certainly have a good night's sleep before the morning noise kicks in! Our friends stayed on the other side of the inn, & their room had a larger bath, but they had kitchen & street noise in the a.m. A bus to NY pulls up & creates noise early in the a.m. The "pub" onsite is very nice & friendly, & restaurant looks nice, as well. Breakfast was included, at the diner a few doors down the street. We'd stay here again!!!

We went here for one night while visiting our daughters at a nearby camp. The owner was nice but a little intoxicated.
He upgraded us to the better suite but it turned out that the suite was facing the street in the front, So, in the AM we were confronted by the sound of roaring trucks rolling down main street.
The room was very cozy but it was very loud. We would stay there again but would want a quieter room.

  • Liked — old time look of the place
  • Disliked — street noise
