We honeymooned at Tanglwood and had a lovely stay. We stayed in a one bedroom unit that was faced toward the lake. I wouldn't say it had a "lake view" but you could catch glimpses of the lake through the trees. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the patio, watching a family of chipmunks scurrying around each day.
We really wanted to be able to take advantage of the beautiful landscape so many of our activities were out doors. We spent a day biking at Lake Wallenpaupack. That was nice, especially since it was right across the street. If we visit again in the future, I would like to check out the beach that is said to be at this lake. Also, canoeing or kayaking would probably be ideal.
We also spent a day biking and hiking around Promised Land State Park. I really loved this beautiful park. We wandered around Conservation Island and did a lot of exploring around the forest there.
Our favorite day was spent at Bushkill Falls. This is a bit of a drive from Tanglwood, but not difficult to find at all. I think we made a total of 2 or 3 turns in all to arrive here. Here, there's a gift shop, American Indian Museum, Cafe, and of course multiple GORGEOUS trails that run along side the mountain with breathtaking views of the falls. This site is definitely worth the drive.
We went horseback riding one day as well. I don't remember the name of the company we went with, but it was VERY tricky to navigate to. I didn't care for horseback riding too much, but my husband enjoyed it. We got some pretty pictures from it, too.
On a rainy day, we took a short drive to the movie theater and also had dinner at Falls Port Inn. Nothing is very close, but it wasn't too far either. Falls Port Inn was pretty cool, but if you take a walk through the inn, it's actually pretty old and creepy. It gave me chills. But definitely very cool to see.
Back at the resort, we decided that it would be fun to take advantage of the tie-dye T-shirt activity. That was a lot of fun actually! The girls who were in charge of the activities were very sweet and helpful. It was nice to have wi-fi also on site so that we had contact with friends and family at home. I was able to share all of our vacation pictures each day & everyone back home seemed to enjoy that. I kicked my husband's butt at pool, too, which was great, haha! Some of the arcade games were not in working condition, but we weren't there to play inside too much anyhow. The pool was lovely, although we stayed so busy that we never actually got in.
So, most of our days were not spent at the resort. For some that could be a bad thing I guess, but we enjoyed getting out and adventuring around the area. There's a lot to do around here if you look up activities and go explore them for yourself. Tanglwood provided everything we needed and I have no complaints really.
