“Great Getaway!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

The staff was delightful to converse with and provided us with ample information about the hotel and surrounding area.
The included breakfast was tasteful, plentiful and the eating area clean.
The only concern was the occasional late night traffic noise from the adjacent highway.

Room Tip: Hotel is pet friendly on the first floor rooms. Request a room distanced from the highway.

Thank you so much for your review. We are happy to hear you found the staff to be friendly and informative. We do our best to provide as much information about the area and attractions as possible. It can be difficult to get around an unfamiliar area. I am glad you were able to enjoy our wonderful breakfast buffet. Thank you and have a great day!

I've stayed here a few times, mainly as a quick stopover while on the way somewhere else. I guess the best thing about this hotel is the space you have. This is the old Residence Inn design, which means more spacious layout. They have also recently done some renovations of the rooms, mostly cosmetic stuff like some new colors, new lamps, etc. Comfortable.
The bathrooms are tiny though, despite the abundance of space in the room. The toilet seat is made for kids, seriously, and it's very tight quarters in the bathroom itself.
Very good counter space in the bathroom area.
Wifi speed is more than adequate.
Breakfast is 6:30 to 9. In my opinion that ends a bit early. Maybe it's more reasonable to close it at say 10?
This hotel has a 11 am checkout policy, or so the front desk told me. And they would only let me stay till noon as a courtesy "late" checkout. Travelers should keep this in mind if a later checkout is desired. I was using a free night coupon, or else I would have gone someplace like the Sheraton where I get a confirmed 4 pm checkout as Platinum.
Overall not a bad place to stay, especially for a quick one-nighter. Though I think most people who stay at Residence Inn do so for longer stays. I wouldn't. Not here.

From our fast and easy check-in, upgrade, the comfortable, awesome and sparkling room with plenty of space, breakfast buffet and staff ... This hotel delivered maximum value. It made our visit to Hershey Theater a special celebration. We'll be back.

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing place to stay that included breakfast and had an indoor pool. Hotel met all these with high marks and in addition the 1 bedroom suite was terrific. Large and immaculate. Kitchen had real plates and glasses so we were able to enjoy a glass of wine in the room feelnig just like home, and heat up some lunch. Living room had a nice work desk so I could get on my laptop and not disturb husband in bedroom, and watch my show there while he watched his in other room. Living room also had sleeper bed which would be great for family with children. Everything was up to date and larger than other suites I've stayed in.

Room Tip: We chose Queen Suite (2 beds) but believe they only have a few of those. A King bed quite with one...

This is a great location with easy access to many points of interest in the area. We stayed here for two nights. We arrived very late at night and our check-in was quick. We were on the bottom floor and had no issues with noise. The room was very clean and the kitchen had just enough items to be able to make food. The breakfast was a bit crowded and we arrived towards the end of the scheduled time and and the person was already putting things away. She did ask us if we needed anything but when it was full of people I am not sure why she would be putting things away. We realized after we left that our son forgot something and I called the hotel and she said she would send it to our home. By the time we arrived home from our trip the item was on the porch waiting for us. Would definitely stay again.

Great trip, great hotel. Best comp breakfast I've had! Great dining room attendant. She acted as waitress and was not afraid to interact w/ customers.
Hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool and a basketball court. Woke up to snow...which was exciting for the kids since we don't get much at home.
Remember to bring your own log for the fireplace! We found this out too late to get one.
Clean, large rooms...bathroom was a little small.

First, I have to mention that we are Hilton Honors members.....we RARELY stay anywhere else other than a Hilton property however, we were pleasantly surprised with this property.

Now...it's not to say that this trip didn't start off on the wrong foot. The check-in time is 4:00 and unfortunately, still at 5:00 our room was not ready. The front desk staff, however, was more than apologetic....and for whatever reason, the room was not ready. We waited an additional 15 minutes and then were told our room was now ready.

Some highlights of this hotel:

They have a managers reception Monday through Thursday.......the night we stayed the menu included Chilli...bisquits.....salad.......nacho chips and cheese sauce. It also included draft beer and pepsi products.

Have a free breakfast each morning.....the mornings we stayed the menu included pancakes....scrambled eggs.....make your own Belgian waffle.....a variety of muffins, breads, cereals, yogurts, juices, etc.

The 2 bedroom rooms are quite spacious. Each bedroom has their own bathroom which is a bonus when you're travelling with kids.

The indoor pool was in the building we were staying in.

The staff at the front desk and those working the breakfast/managers reception were very friendly and helfpul.

Things you might want to know in order to better prepare you....

The breakfast area is in a completely different building then where our suite was. Now..in the summer months this probably isn't a big deal, however, in the winter with young children, having to bundle them up....warm up the car and drive over two buildings to go have breakfast was challenging.

Because the staff is located in the main building....we never saw an employee of the hotel in the building we were staying in. For me, it brings comfort in knowing that the building we stay in is being monitored and we did not get this feeling.

It had snowed prior to our arrival and although the parking lot looked like it had been plowed a little....there was never another pass through and/or the use of sand/salt in the parking lot to treat the icey areas.

The indoor pool was cold.....certainly colder than I would have given my child a bath in. The temperature in the pool area was extremely warm and maybe they hoped this would compensate for the colder water.....but the kids continually complained they were cold.
