Upon entry into the room, several issues were readily apparent. First, a dirty towel was situated under the sofa chair in plainview. Several stains were noticed on the comforters and carpet. Hairs were found in the bedding.
I spoke with a manager named Dan. He advised me that they had a high turnover that day and he apoligized. He thanked me for my customer input/feedback. Obviously, he cannot distinguish between a customer complaint and what constitutes feedback. Nevertheless, housekeeping was ordered and she replaced all the bedding. However, even the "fresh" bedding was in such poor condition. The bedding was tattered with holes and tears appearing at the seams . I guess, as hotel guests, a simple investment in new sheets by management is asking way too much.
Other issues that we faced afterwards: The room safe (located in the closet) was locked and therefore unusable until a maintenance employee opened it for us. However when the safe was open, the door would not stay closed unless locked (thus the reason for it being locked in the first place). So when unlocked, the safe door would strike the sliding closet door. Ingenious architecture. Furthermore, it took several minutes to get the water temperature in the shower just right. If you moved the knob slightly, it would either be too hot or too cold. Management must invest in better shower diverters. The wall air conditioner made the sound of trickling water all night. Maintenance has to drain the water trapped inside the unit. The hallways of the hotel lack appropriate ventilation, and are very warm and musty.
Upon checkout, I was not asked the expected question: "So how was your stay with us?" Which when NOT asked is usually a clear sign of customer apathy especially when the place is not busy. So I volunteered to inform the manager about the other issues that arose during our 2 night stay.
Overall, I would never stay at this hotel again. The health and welfare of the customer must be of paramount concern to the management of any hotel. This is not the case with this hotel.
Management clearly has to pay more closer attention to room quality control and less time making excuses for the lack of it.
