When our far-flung family decided to bring teen cousins together for a summer outing, we were lucky to spot Harrisburg by Segway. After a 20-minute familiarization session, our guide Micaiah led us on a 2-hour exploration of scenic spots. We rolled past the Italian Garden, Zembo Mosque, and glided up and down and along the eastern shore promenade, finally crossing over to the city island for a look-see before heading back to the Capitol building and our easy-to-find starting place on North Front Street. We spent the better part of 3 hours on wheels, with nary a complaint from 3 teenagers. That's hard to top!
The price was attractive, the reservation easy to arrange, the Segways were easy to manuever and I'm sure we will return for a different routing. Best of all, even the teens remembered to tip our guide -- a sure sign they enjoyed the outing.
