Stayed one night based on reviews on Trip Advisor. Retired couple, leisure travel. Traveling to NY to visit family, stopped overnight along the way. Got senior rate which was lower than lowest advertised rate & lower than comparable hotels of equal quality. Property appeared fairly new. Clean property, ample parking. Appeared to be in safe location. About 2 mi. from I-81, not right at the interchange but not difficult to find. Probably why good room rate. Desk clerk courteous. Called ahead, was told quoted rate was for 2 queen beds. When we arrived I asked for an upgrade to king & got it same price. Later returned to front desk asking for some milk for husband to take med with. Clerk was very nice about my request. Room was very roomy & clean except for a spider & web over the closet. Had nice closet for clothing. Large flat screen HDTV, chair, ottoman, numerous pillows, fridge & microwave in room. Bed firm but comfortable. Room HVAC quiet & had softly lighted control at unit which was good since I got up in the middle of the night to adjust temp & didn't want to turn on light to see thermostat. Only real COMPLAINT was little to no soundproofing. We could hear somebody nearby. Could hear their laughing & conversation, cheering as if they we watching a sports event on TV or playing video games. When I went to the front desk seeking milk, I told clerk who offered to change our room but we'd already unpacked a bit & settled in. He said no one was on either side but might have been above. Thankfully, the noisy neighbors quieted down at bed time. A family was across the hall & they had a young child who was a bit fussy in the AM. I'm a grandmother so I don't mind kids. It's just the lack of soundproofing in this hotel that bothered me.
Bathroom was roomy, had nice long quartz type vanity top, big mirror, storage underneath. Enough room to spread out toiletries for hubby & me at the same time. Usual lotion, shampoo, conditioner, ample towels, small coffee maker, ice bucket & cups, hair dryer, etc. I did find something that looked like dried food on the bath vanity counter which I scraped off with fingernail, washed w/ a cloth, & that kind of grossed me out. Other side of sink edge had some sort of adhesive glue, like construction glue stuck on it & it wouldn't budge. Need to scrape off with a razor blade. That got me to wondering just how clean was the bathroom. Can't see germs.
Breakfast disappointing. Usual bagels, bread, muffins, pastry, one kid's fruit loop cereal & raisin bran, only 2% milk, no skim, Belgian waffler, instant oatmeal, small yogurt cups, apple & orange juice. Stayed at a Hampton Inn (in VA) on return trip that had deluxe breakfast that put this one to shame. Breakfast area clean, adequate tables, large HDTV on wall, USA Today paper. Nothing special.
There were only about 5 cars in the lot that night so guessed with small crowd breakfast was the bare minimum.
I'd stay here again. It's just nothing special, but cleanliness is important so I'd recommend this one.
