With a teen who has read several Civil War stories for school the last few years, this was the perfect place to introduce him to the Civil War museums available in the USA. The video presentation you start with really set the tone of the visit. Interesting for the whole family. The artifacts and exhibits as they were laid out eloquently told the story in a timeline way of the conflict. Both Union and Confederate sides being well represented.
The gift shop was also very well done. I'd recommend this museum to anyone.
Do not miss the sculpture out front of the two soldiers. Take the time to go read the short story.
Also, the views of Harrisburg itself available from outside are spectacular.
