“Highly Recomment This Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

With a teen who has read several Civil War stories for school the last few years, this was the perfect place to introduce him to the Civil War museums available in the USA. The video presentation you start with really set the tone of the visit. Interesting for the whole family. The artifacts and exhibits as they were laid out eloquently told the story in a timeline way of the conflict. Both Union and Confederate sides being well represented.
The gift shop was also very well done. I'd recommend this museum to anyone.
Do not miss the sculpture out front of the two soldiers. Take the time to go read the short story.
Also, the views of Harrisburg itself available from outside are spectacular.

“Unbiased look at the Civil War”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

This museum is one of the best I've seen and it depicts both sides in a very educational and unbiased way. If there is one draw-back, there is way to much to read, however, they did have monitors at various stations where someone told the story as pertaining to the exhibit. All in all, very good displays.

“A wonderful experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

For anyone interested in Civil War history, this is a wonderful place to while away several hours. We spent four hours there and could've spent four more. Lots to see. A good value for the $10 admission price, and discounts available.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

Spent several hours here and if you go plan on at least 3 hours. Many exhibits including an extensive weapons collection, uniforms, flags and letters from soldiers, etc. It's an eye opening experience. Free parking and the museum sits on top of a hill with a nice view of the surrounding area.

“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

Presents both sides of the war. Strikes a balance between artifacts, photos and video presentations. Worth a visit.
