Owner description: Teddy Roosevelt declared that this Italian Renaissance-style building was “the handsomest building I ever saw”. Indeed, the State Capitol, with its vaulted dome and grand staircase and the murals and painted floors inside, is thing to behold.

“Just a beautiful educational location that is interesting not only for its art work, but for the stories they tell.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

You must not end you visit to Harrisburg without going to see the State Capital. The artwork on the walls and the information that the tour guides offer will amaze anyone who loves our Nation’s history. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has a rich history that spans all of the important events of our nation. It’s free and parking is available, but not free. It’s worth the trip!

“Amazing Building”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

We took the kids to see the state capitol, as they love geography. It is a beautiful building, and very tourist-friendly. We especially liked the "Welcome Center" that was geared towards teaching kids about the building and legislative processes. A great stop.

“A must visit...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

Location, park surrounding it and the downtown are superb. Located in the heart of the historical Harrisburg, PA, it was a great surprise to discover this little gem of a town. We'll be back!

Beautiful inside and out! Been here around Christmas a couple times and love seeing the large Christmas tree with handmade ornaments. Also the tour is great too and free!

“Most Impressive State Capitol”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

Haven't seen every state capitol but have seen a lot and none have been more impressive nor is it even possible to imagine a more impressive and ornate capitol structure. Just beautiful. Worth a trip to Harrisburg just to see. And be sure to take the tour, very informative not to mention free!
