“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

Wow! My husband and my 3 and a half year old just spent 3 days in the Pickerel Point Campground. I don't have one bad thing to say about this park. The renovated bathrooms and showers were unbelievably clean (I saw one park employee even wiping the OUTSIDE of the bathrooms for cobwebs, dirt, etc). We stayed at site 122. We hiked, fished, rented a rowboat - $30 for 2 hours - played and explored on the beaches and relaxed by the fire. All of the employees, from the rangers to the park office, were very helpful and pleasant. I would recommend this park to anyone and plan on going back!

“Beautiful park, so-so fishing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Loved the park. Big, lots of walking trails, pretty well marked, good map. Staff in park office uniformly friendly and helpful. No charge to visit the park and hike the trails.

Fishing in Promised Land Lake left something to be desired. Liked the boat rental guys, cheerful and helpful. But the lake is clogged with obstacles below and just above the surface, not very deep, so not much fun.

“Like all Pa state parks you wont be disopointed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

Promise land has everything for many. I am lucky enough to live 30 min from Promise land and take advantage of it to get away. Though I live in the rural area just like the park I enjoy taking the motorhome out for a fast getaway. Lower lake is nice, Clean showers for those who need them. In general the place in big a lot to do ,hiking, swimming, camping or just relaxing. We traveled all over the USA but the past few years really have found that Pa state parks offer so much to do and see and are very reasonable cost wise. Average campsite is 25-30 a night electric included, you must fill water tanks on arrival which is no big deal and dump stations are easy to get to on leaving. PEOPLE MUST KNOW TO GO ON LINE TO PA PARKS REGISTER AND RESERVE BEFORE YOU GET THERE. You just cant pull up and expect a open site, more so on weekends in summer. After labor day its easier. Go enjoy we do as much as we can. Open till Dec if you have heat in your RV

“Absolutely our idea of the Promised Land”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

We have camped in the park twice. We stayed in a different part of the park each timme. In July, we stayed in the Pickeral Point section. It is really beautiful Recently renovated, with lake views from every site (even if it is just a glimpse). This section is pet friendly.
