“Third Times the charm!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

We have stayed at After 8 three times now and each time the service and quality remained consistently high. It is centrally located to a lot of Lancaster activities. Robert's breakfasts are always delicious. Robert goes out of his way to answer questions and meet needs. I would definitely recommend After 8 to others. If we are able we will still at After 8 again and again.

Room Tip: In this romantic old house the rooms are top quality. Be sure to peruse all rooms and pick the righ...

Our state you could not have been any nicer no I couldn't be more welcoming. Our host, robert was thoroughly knowledgeable of the area and made us feel quite welcomed. We could not have asked for a nicer experience especially since it was our 30th wedding anniversary thank you Robert. Mary and I expect to be back very soon thank you.

This was our first stay at a B&B and we just loved it. Robert was a great host and innkeeper. The room we had was great with our own private balcony overlooking the farm lands. The breakfast we had was delicious and made we love. We definitely will stay again!

Found this B&B online. Never know in advance what it would really be like. Upon arrival (3 couples), we were professionally greeted by Robert and given a tour of the B&B. We were very pleased with what we saw. Robert is the ultimate Innkeeper / Host. Very helpful, pleasant and professional. Breakfast was excellent (from quality, quantity and presentation)! We enjoyed Robert's stories and jokes. The sitting rooms were warm and inviting and we enjoyed the "puzzle" activity with our friends and the new friends we met. The rooms were very beautiful and comfortable. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who is looking for a beautiful place to stay. Robert, keep up the good work. See you on our next visit to the Lancaster area. Thanks for all you did to make our trip a success.

Don't think I could have found better accommodation for the same price as I found at After Eight. Robert Hall is a charming and helpful host who allowed us to use his freezer as needed and booked a meal for us in an authentic Amish home. His breakfasts were delicious and accompanied by lighthearted jokes which encouraged dialogue between guests. The room we were in was spacious with a fantastic ensuite, lots of closet storage, full TV and internet access. There was a common living area for relaxation, puzzles and game playing, access to ice, hot and cold beverages, and a refrigerator. The home had a lovely garden and a veranda where one could hang out for a picnic or beverages. Its location was central to all attractions in Lancaster County. If I ever tour Lancaster again, I will definitely book to stay at After Eight.

Very peaceful and serene with all of the comfort of home! We only stayed one night but were very pleased with our visit. The map with all of the attractions highlighted was so helpful and Robert was a very gracious host! We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend!

We had a great time at this B&B, Robert was a very welcoming host and took the time to go over our interests and the corresponding local attractions, marking up a map of the area so that we could review the options later on, in addition to providing brochures. It was generally a short drive to most of the attractions and although the parking lot is small, it was never overcrowded. Also the sign is well-lit so spotting it on your way home at night was a breeze. He had several puzzles available on a spinning table, some of them are difficult though!

The morning breakfasts were delicious! Not only was the food good but Robert interacted with everyone as if we were family, telling jokes and stories. The portions were good and he always had a few extra portions that would be doled out to any willing guest, some less willing than others. He had freshly baked cookies out for the taking as well as candy dishes throughout the home. We enjoyed several conversations with him during our stay, he has a dry sense of humor that we appreciate.

The Deluxe suite was very comfortable. The bed was soft but supportive and the side entrance was a nice addition. We fit comfortably in the Jacuzzi tub, it felt luxurious and very romantic.

Room Tip: We were slightly concerned about the road noise being that it is directly on the highway but it was...
