Whenever I have a stressful day (which is pretty much everyday), I close my eyes and visualize the Osceola Mill House... The limestone house, the four-poster bed, the creek, the corn fields, the cows, the unmistakeable sound of another buggy going over the bridge, sitting on the grass catching fireflies, the smell of Ron's breakfast wafting up to our room. I remember my previous two trips there and I dream about next year's visit. That usually gets me through the work week.
The Osceola Mill House is simply the most peaceful place I have ever experienced. It is a beautiful 1766 Mill House, nestled in between real, working Amish Farms. When I travel there, I feel like I'm going home. This is due as much to Innkeepers Ron and Pat's overflowing hospitality as it is to the quiet country atmosphere. And the food... Ron's three-course breakfasts are legendary, as is Pennsylvania Dutch Country cooking in general. I have never had such relaxing vacations as the ones I have spent at the Osceola Mill House... and that's saying a lot since my husband caught the flu the first trip and Southwest lost my luggage the second trip!
Visit the Osceola Mill House and enjoy a "time-out" of peace, simplicity, and beauty in your otherwise hectic life. Oh, and don't forget to grab your hand-made quillow while you're there!
