My husband worked with a woman who is Indian, and she recommended Shere E Punjab as a place that has good Indian food (the one in Media). The Glen Mills location is fairly new, but I think better. The interior is all new and has a nice bar. I've eaten in this one at least three times, and it's always been fantastic. Yesterday, I went there for lunch, and they have a nice menu of lunch specials for around $8-9. We ordered the vegetable pakora, a chick pea batter fried that comes with two sauces, a sweet sauce kinda like a plum sauce/duck sauce and a green one with herbs. I loved it; it was crispy and a little spicy and went with the sauces well. I ordered the lunch special of Chicken Korma which has big chunks of tender chicken breast in a brown cashew sauce with cashews. So tasty! It comes with Jasmine rice, and we also ordered some Naan bread. Their naan is very good. My husband got a vegetarian dish with cauliflower and potatoes in a tomato sauce. His entree came with a salad as well. One of the things I like about this restaurant is you can tell them how spicy you'd like your dish from a scale of 1-5. Our meal of two entrees, an appetizer, naan, two beers and an iced tea came to $35--and we took some home in a doggie bag. How can you beat that?! The staff has always been really pleasant and attentive. If I lived closer, I'd probably eat here once a week. The yogurt marinated chicken kebab that comes with onions and peppers is also good. I think all their sauces are awesome. A good place to take someone to try Indian food for the first time.
