“Overpriced ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014

We needed a place to stay for the night so after searching and finding out that every hotel in the area was booked solid we saw that Americas Best Value Inn had one room left so we took it. I'm assuming the overpriced room was because everything else was booked so they jacked up the price on a very mediocre room and hotel. I would never pay over $100 to stay here but they get you when you don't have any other choices. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly but the hotel itself needs a lot of updating. If you can get a decent rate on a room for the night or weekend it's not that bad but we paid entirely too much out of desperation!

We stayed for one night. There were 24 of us and i was worried that the rooms would be poor due to the previous reviews. But for the price we paid, we could not complain. The staff were very helpful. The rooms were clean. The breakfast, although a simple affair was adequate.

Quick stop over while travelling back to Ontario from Florida. Most of Erie was booked solid so we ended up at America's Worst Value Inn. First appearance the hotel looked nice. The lobby was pretty and the staff friendly. The rate of $100 was too much for this place. $50 I would be happy. The room: Turn on the water and it ran brown at first, the doors to the rooms was very hard to close so we heard slamming doors often as there was no quiet way to close the doors. The blankets had holes in them and there was water damage on the ceiling. When I checked out and asked the front desk clerk if the room had not been rented in awhile and she said "yes, why was there a problem?". I told her about the water and was advised it was because of the well, but the water was fine. Then, and now this is hilarious, she told me that the room was vacant all winter because it was being updated with new bedding etc. I had no answer to that....i would have hated to see the before picture of the room.

Stayed here for two nights. I thought it was a good enough stay for the money. It IS an older place and is not maintained in the highest standards, but I found the staff that I interacted with to be very friendly and helpful. The exhaust fan in the bath didn't work, which will lead to other problems in the future, but there were nice amenities - room safe, microwave, small refrigerator, and coffee maker.
Free internet available. The breakfast bar was rather small, but there was juice, cereal, milk, coffee, bagels, waffles. I would return.

Room Tip: maybe scope out the room before choosing it.

Comforter on bed was stained, lampshade and alarm clock were both broken, trim on wall was loose and falling offin both room and bathroom, bathroom grid rusty. There was a gap of at least half in inch the entire way around the door to the hallway letting in light and cold air. Room was very cold - never warmed up until 3:30 am.

Room Tip: Never stay in this hotel.

I lived in this motel for months as a contractor for a local company. The upside is that the monthly rate is 650 a month. The downside is that the place is run down and apparently hasn't received maintenance in years. Paint scrapes and peeling are evident all throughout the inside. The carpet is worn and stained and the wall paper needs replacing. Plus the hallways are freezing in the winter. All that aside, my room was okay. The bed was good, the shower was hot and the pressure was adequate, the tv was basic cable on an old set, the wifi was decent, and the room was quiet. The quietness comes from the fact that not too many people opt to stay here, especially for months on end. The monthly wing was almost empty of guests. This works out well in terms of plenty of hot water and gobs of wifi bandwidth. Mostly, the guests consists of truck drivers and construction workers who need a cheap place to stay for the weekend. Canadian shoppers will also frequent over a weekend. As stated, the place is worn down and dated but it does not ode of being dangerous. If you like 'do it yourself' waffles in the morning, this is your place. In fact, all they serve are waffles, bagels and coffee. The restaurant is surprisingly good and has a number of visitors from the area. The bar has a very dated 1970's feel to it. But it beats having to drive to a bar for entertainment and risking drinking too much.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room before accepting it.
