“Clean, tidy, accepts pets, excellent free breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

This LaQuinta was clean, tidy, and served an excellent free breakfast. Most importantly, they not only accept pets but they also do not charge for pets. I will definitely stay here again. Dead space typing because the idiot computer thinks I didn't enter a long enough review.

Dear Marian P:

Thank you for kind words about our establishment during your recent stay as well as an unexpected chuckle at the last sentence of your review. It definitely lightened the day. We are so happy that you and your "fuzzy" children enjoyed the hotel and all that it had to offer. Being a "fuzzy" mother too, I know how important it is for not only me to be comfortable but all my family members as well. We hope that on your next trip through the Erie area you will stop by and see us.

We stayed at La Quinta for 2 nights and we found the rooms very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good too. Beds were very comfortable. Shopping in the area was good too. We loved our stay would return.

Room Tip: Back of hotel for reduction on noise from highway

Stayed here with family while moving in the middle of the winter. This was a stop while moving from GA to ROC. WE got in late at night and left after getting the free breakfast. The hotel appeared to have the halls and the rooms recently renovated WE stayed here b/c we had the dog with us.

Rooms were very nice and clean. Room had a walk in shower, no bath tub. Breakfast was pretty decent. Had some hot foods, but nothing special. IT was sausage, biscuits, and gravy. They also had the typical LQ waffle and the usual continental breakfast items.
Bed was pretty comfy. room was very clean.
the hotel has an indoor pool, but we did not use it.
The breakfast area is very large so if hotel is busy i would recommend taking your food back to the room.
Overall it was a god stay.
The only issue is there is no truck parking. I had a 26fy moving truck towing a vehicle. I would stary here again

Room Tip: 1st floor can get a little noisy. Pick a room on an upper floor.

Dear geo-guy-13;

We hope you are now settled in Rochester and enjoying all the area has to offer. If I may offer a restaurant suggestion, a really great place to get red hots & porkers is at Don's Originals on Lake Irondequoit. I've been going there since I was a little child. And don't forget Abbott's Custard.

In addition, we are so happy that you stayed with us during your relocation and that you found the hotel clean, comfortable and enjoyable.

We hope that you will visit Erie often now that you are in the region and enjoy all the area has to offer. From the beaches to the wineries and everything in between there are a good amount of things to experience.

Again, thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon.

Sincerely,

Mary L Ward

I have stayed at lots of LaQuintas. This one needs some improvement. Staff was nice, breakfast was as expected, but the room seemed shabby and worn, and smelled of smoke. Maybe I just got a very bad room.

Dear Sir:

We truly appreciate your feedback; it is our goal to provide you with a positive, memorable experience each and every time you stay with us. We apologize that your experience was not what you expected from La Quinta.

Up until 2 weeks ago we have had very inclement weather in the area. Therefore, having a company come out with a lift to fix any issues on the exterior of the building has been impossible. In addition we have been doing renovation at the hotel in stages since early last spring. We will be replacing all of the case goods (furniture), room carpeting and window treatments as well as all new windows in the hotel and implementing a new bedding package. I am truly sorry those new items were not available for you when you stayed with us. And I apologize the room you were in smelled liked smoke as we are a 100% smoke free facility. Unfortunately, not everyone follows the rules we set forth and we do charge them $250 for breaking the rules and do our best to turn the room over.

Thank you again for your feedback as it is most appreciated.

Sincerely,

M Ward

We have stayed at several other hotels in Erie in the past. This was our first time at a La Quinta, and we were pleasantly surprised. Everything seemed quite new and the room was very clean. We slept very comfortably, even though you can slightly hear noises through the walls. We always travel with a white noise machine, and were not disturbed at all. The hotel parking lot is a little tricky to get in and out of, but we will definately be staying here again, next time we are in Erie. We will also check out other La Quinta hotels, after this pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevator

Stayed for one night while visiting the Erie area.
After the previous couple of nights at a Hampton Inn in Grove City, this place was a real letdown.
Some hallways have been renovated; but the bed was the only new item in the room. Furniture was well worn, as was the carpet. Lighting was too dim to read by. The little amenities I usually associate with chains like La Quinta were lacking: shampoo but no conditioner; coffee maker but no coffee or tea; etc. The bed had sheets and a light blanket; we were cold, but there was no other bedding anywhere in the room. We ended up covered with towels and coats.
Breakfast was pitiful, particularly after the previous days at Hampton. No fruit, no eggs except hard boiled, no meat. Cold cereal, pastries and do-it-yourself waffles were it. The warming tray looked appealing, but the only thing in it was biscuits and white goop (who eats that stuff???)
There is considerable noise from highway traffic if your room faces the front; unfortunately, all the King rooms are in the front.
There is little in the way of sit-down restaurants near to this hotel. That said, staff directed us to a little country bar a few hundred feet away. They warned us that we might find it dingy, and that smoking was allowed. The setting turned out to be as rustic as advertised, but the smoke was not evident and the food was quite good. So one bright light in an otherwise bad stay.

Room Tip: Avoid the highway noise at the front if you don't need a King room.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay with us. We are sorry you were anything less than satisfied with your stay.

Please know that our shampoo is a conditioning shampoo branded exclusively for LaQuinta thereby reducing cost and waste at the hotel level. We also serve a rotating hot breakfast each day which the menu is provided in each room for our guests convenience. Sunday is the day we serve biscuits and sausage gravy which is quite a big hit with our guests. We also offer toast, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, english muffins, bagels, cranberry juice, orange juice, hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea and cocoa and make your own waffles.

We have also upgraded to one cup coffee pots in all of our rooms and we provide tea in the lobby 24 hours a day. Unfortunately, tea is not something that is required to be in the rooms per LaQuinta standards.

In addition, our bedding package is up to LaQuinta standards and if ever additional bedding is needed, all one needs to do is request it of the staff and we would be happy to provide our guests with additional blankets.

We have been renovating the hotel since late spring of 2013. In order to remain competitive and open during the year so as not to turn guests away, we do the renovation in stages. Currently we have completed renovations in all of the bathrooms by removing all of the tubs and replacing them with glass doored showers as well as new flooring at the entrance ways to the rooms as well as in the bathrooms. We have also replaced all of the vanity tops in each of the rooms. Our next project in the guest rooms will be case goods (furniture), window treatments as well as new carpeting and a new bedding package (linens).

We are still in the process of putting down the new tile in the lobby, elevator, and floor landings off the elevators which we hope to have complete within the next 3 weeks.

Again, we are sorry that you do not feel that we live up to the quality of a Hampton Inn but we are trying diligently to give each of our guests the best product in the market.
