“Great zoo for children”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2011

My wife and two children (8 and 1) visited this zoo on Sunday May 29th and thought it was awesome. I went with low expectations but was proven wrong. The zoo was filled with animals and it wasnt overcrowded with people. We got there early and the weather was still cool so that added to the experience. The zoo had all the major animals except for elephants. There was a train ride and a carousel (extra charge) and a kids play area. We were able to see the entire zoo comfortably in about three hours. It started getting hot and it was time to leave. I would recommend this zoo to anyone with kids.

“Free Zoo time on Sundays is a waste!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2011

Free zoo time is on Sundays from 4 to 6....Dont waste your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You cant even enjoy the attractions the zoo was built for. Instead you get a real dose of Innercity ruff at it's best!!! And if thats not enough to keep you on your toes, the hundreds of yelling and screaming unsupervised or unmannered little ones will!!! The workers should be paid time and a half on Sundays, and you should at least charge something on that day to keep the FREE LOADERS out!!!!!!!!!! Better yet...throw some of those MORONS in the cages so we can scream and bang on the glass!! i would rather hang out with the animals you keep in a pen!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Great mid-sized zoo where you and your younger kids can easily spend the whole day.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2010

The animal exhibits are beautiful and it is generally easy to see them. My children's favorite parts are the train, which does cost a little extra, and the large play area, which is included in admission. Sometimes the play area is a little crowded, but it's never been too much of a problem. There are quite a few hills, and sometimes my double stroller can be difficult to get around, but it isn't too bad. Saturdays can be the best days to go because more of the ammenities are open, and sometimes they have special promotions like McDonald's day. They are closed in the winter except for special classes, and there is an indoor play area with no "stinky" animals if it gets too chilly outside or starts to rain.

“Erie Zoo is a local gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2010

The Erie Zoo is a wonderful attraction in the Erie area. It is not a huge zoo. The Erie zoo can be toured in a few leisurely hours. Many of the animal enclosures have been updated to include more terrain. The Erie Zoo is comparable to the Pittsburgh zoo. There is as much to see in Erie except for no elephants. The Erie zoo is very kid friendly with several hands on experiences.

“Erie Zoo trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2010

This zoo is a very nice zoo and seems to be very clean. It was a little difficult trying to decide which direction you were going so that you didn't miss anything. We really enjoyed the birds (lorakeets) that landed on my hubby and I (our little guy was afraid of them). But, pick a day when the humidity and the heat are down and you have a perfect little jaunt and a nice place to visit. Oh and depending on what insurance plan you have or if you are part of the 'zoo members' group, you can get in for a discount or free.
