“Great little art gallery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

I say little because I have been to much larger collections, but this was a great museum for a smaller town. We loved the local artist featured here. I would love to be able to buy prints. Joseph Plavcan was my favorite paintings. We loved the basement of the old build, just a great added feature.

“Erie Art Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

A great little museum that had a Skrebneski photo exhibit, great looks into local artists and historic venues as well. A great space for their art combining a great old building and new space as well.

“Bigger and better than ever.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

Has always been a great museum but under the direction of John Vanco the museum has greatly expanded and is now able to host larger and more varied venues. A huge project done correctly. Kudos.

“A jewel in downtown Erie.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

The Art Museum is one of Erie's cultural pearls, situated in the old Customs House and the newer wing, it blends the old with the new very well. There are always new and different displays or shows going on, ranging from paintings from nationally or locally famous artists, which makes coming here a treat every time.

The staff is very helpful and informed, and does all that they can to help you enjoy your time here.

Parking can be an issue, as it is on street and Erie is a metered city. On the weekends, it is generally very easy to get a parking place.

There are plenty of art shops and places to eat in the area surrounding the Museum, and it is a great place to start to explore downtown Erie from.

“ART & MUSIC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Wednesday's are free at the Erie Art Museum. The artwork is displayed attractively and the pieces are curious, but interesting. Also, the outdoor concert from 12 - 1 pm is a delight.
