Presque isle is such a wonderful place! Right now the ice dunes are still present and a sight to see....but this park is my favorite part of Erie, since i became a "local" two years ago! In warmer weather there is a walking/running/biking/skating trail that is paved and a terrific place to walk, even for people who have some problems with exercise because it is fairly level. No big hills or challenges. My usual walk runs right along the lake and i see all sorts of ice fishermen/boats/wildlife, depending on the season. It has never been too crowded for a good walk when i have been there, but there are usually enough people that one does not feel isolated either. There are also "nature trails" that are not paved and off the beaten path. In the summer there are many beaches to be enjoyed and the sunsets can't be beat. there are many activities that take place at Presque isle like a concert series in the summer and i just LOVE it when the Kites are displayed on the beach. The best thing for me about Presque isle, though, will always be it's peaceful beauty as i walk along the lake!
