“Excellent Mediterranean Cuisine- Happy I Gave it a Try!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

A modest exterior and decor, however the food is to die for! The service it attentive, the pita and oil at your table is addictive, and your taste-buds will thank you! Portion sizes are average to generous, I always end up with a take home box. Make reservations if you plan to go on a Friday or Saturday night, especially in the colder months where seating is limited to indoors. In the summer months tables are available outside to enjoy the warm evening air. This is a great restaurant to enjoy an evening out with family and friends! I recommend any of the platter options for a variety of delights, my husband would recommend their steak special (when they have it). Give Petra’s a try, you’ll be glad you did!

“A Great Place to Relax & Dine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

Petra is one of the BEST restaurants located in Erie, PA. A wonderful place to go for a relaxing dining experience. The Eastern Mediterranean Cuisine is a vegetarian's delight (actually a delight to anyone with discerning taste). Everything on the menu is so good! Two tasty appetizers are the Raspberry Almond Brie en Fillo and the Three Cheese Fatayer. Seafood lovers will love the Salmon Alexandria. The dinner platters are wonderful for those who would like to try a little bit of several items. Several Kabobs are offered (even one for vegetarians) as well as a selection of pasta & couscous dishes. One of my favorite dishes is the Mucklouba, which features seared eggplant over a bed of rice along with a sauce of sauteed tomatoes, peppers, onions & garlic, topped with almond slices. For those who are not vegetarian seasoned beef, chicken or shrimp can be added. Steaks & Chops are also on the menu. Soup, sandwiches, salads, lunch platters, smoothies, & a kid's menu are also available. The deserts are mouth-watering. Try the Creme Brulee, Peanut Butter Pie, Baklava -- writing this is making me hungry. I'm going back again this week.

“Delightful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

I can't think of any complaints! Our waiter was very attentive, and the food was excellent. I ate a pasta dish with shrimp and crab, and the crab was the real thing, not the fake stuff you sometimes get disappointed with in restaurants. Falafel and hummus were excellent. Hubby said the lamb kebobs were the best lamb he ever ate. The baklava was excellent, with a twist with pistachios as well as walnuts (I think!), and hubby loved the peanut butter pie. It was our first time at a mediterranean restaurant, and we were very pleased!
