“Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2010

Nice, comfortable rooms. The pillows are devine! Spacious, modern bathrooms. Included in the nightly rate is a very nice breakfast served every morning from 6-10am. When you're travelling with children, this is a great value. The staff was friendly and helpful, even the housekeepers. They have an outdoor heated pool, which the kids loved, and helped us fill up downtime between activities.
The hotel is close to many restaurants, from fast food to casual to a Japanese steak house/sushi bar across the street. And it's only minutes from Presque Isle and the amusement/water park. They run a shuttle to the casino on weekends.
This is really a nice place to stay for a family vacation that involves Presque Isle and/or the amusement park. The complimentary breakfast makes this Comfort Inn a great value.

Many other people have given this Hotel High reviews...and now I too give this hotel high praises because...The location is minutes from the beach, Waldameer Park and within a very nice shopping and store area. If you wanted to ride your bike from the hotel to the beach you could do that as It isn't far at all. The breakfast is free and includes many delicious options and my Husband and 2 boys went down multiple times to eat from 6 am to 10 am...the hotel room was clean and basic..and great for allergy sufferers like our family and smelled of no perfumes or heavy detergents...just a great smelling CLEAN room....pets are not allowed and non-smoking rooms actually smell like no one smoked in them...so for us anyways it was a great option as we are highly allergic to everything. We actually have always brought an Air-cleaner in all hotels just so we can filter the smell from the room just so we can breathe easier...this time we actually left our air cleaner in the car...something we have NEVER done before...with this hotel...we actually didn't need it at all.....it smelled great in the entire place. The hotel has a small pool..but its quaint and cozy and the hotel feels more like a home then a hotel...because of the size of the building and the way the hotel is run. Brad, at the front desk was great at booking reservations and always had a smile on his face. Their customer service was in my opinion awesome....even though the place gets busy...he and the rest of the staff still seem to make it a point to make you feel important and talk to you more like family then a traveler visiting the area. The hotel overall feels cozy, quaint and more like a home, a comfortable place to stay after a fun day. I can honestly say that we will book this hotel again anytime we want to vacation in Erie again...its just an all around a great hotel...there are many fancy hotels in the area..but if you want a quality hotel with truly great customer service and a basic hotel with many perks that even high end hotels don't provide, all included in the price ....and to be able to rest your head in a safe and VERY clean and great smelling environment..this is the place for you. I would recommend this place because overall..for as basic as this place was....the quality of our stay was beyond expectations....this Comfort Inn is a true keeper!

While there was nothing memorable about my stay, this hotel is a safe and solid choice in the area. It's very convenient to Presque Isle State Park where the Lake Erie beaches are as well as Waldameer Park & Water World. The room was clean and functional and the staff was decent, though I found it odd that they wouldn't give loyalty points due to the fact that I had a group rate (I paid as an individual and it was not an amazing price). The breakfast is okay, but nothing to write home about. The pool area is very attractive and well kept for such a limited service hotel. The public-access computer was oddly located right up against the front desk.

We stayed at this hotel on June 12, 2010.
All in all, the room seemed to be clean, and our stay was fine but nothing special.
Since we weren't expecting much, we were okay with the hotel. It was less expensive than the other hotels in Erie and we were only staying one night.
This hotel seems to be getting a little old, and showed some normal wear and tear.
The hotel's location was convenient for us because we were going to Waldameer Park, and the hotel was close to the park and also to Presque Isle park (a nice place for a drive/walk/bike ride).
However, West 12th Street was under construction, so the roads were a mess because of that (not the hotel's fault).
The area of town it is located in is also an older area.
There were a lot of noisy people in the hotel the night we stayed, with people talking loudly in the halls, and banging on doors until quite late. The room did not seem to be very soundproof (typical for many hotels).
If I were to stay in Erie again, I would probably choose a newer hotel in the newer section of Erie (close to the mall), and drive a little further to get to Waldameer.

I stayed at this hotel before I liked it because it was close to Waldameer Amusement Park and good prices This year however the room I had the a/c didn't work. I went to the front desk and the guy did change my room and the second room's a/c didn't work either. By then it was late and I didn't want to change rooms...AGAIN! The breakfast was good. Plenty of stuff to offer. I wouldn't go back next year.

I have used this hotel and many others in Erie repeatedly, and I keep coming back to this one on 12th street when I can. Very good breakfast (eggs/sausage/waffles); rooms are large with full cable, easy parking out back. Another cool thing is that they have, for years now, given a pass to the nearby Naultilus Fitness club, which is so much better than the lame fitness rooms other hotels sometimes have; just ask at the desk for a pass for each person. And, given Erie's small size, it is never more than 15 minutes to anywhere.

Pristine clean room and bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Excellent customer service and excellent breakfast - small breakfast buffet: waffles, eggs, ham, bagels, fruit, cereal - so excellent choices. 8 minute drive to Millcreek Mall.
