“Best Part: Free use of Nautilus workout”

Some hotels have exercise rooms, but this one gives you a free pass (just ask) to the Nautilus facility a mile away. It not only has fitness stuff, but raquetball, weights and a pool! When on the road, it is important to do stuff like that before dinner (OR the nice Free breakfast).

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Nautilus use, free breakfast, nice rooms.
    • Disliked — Location is not near the malls (but is close to Presque Isle if you want that).

We stayed one night at the Comfort Inn, Erie. The check-in clerk was friendly and our room was clean. The air conditioner was extremely noisy--we had to turn it off at night to sleep. The bathroom door scraped the bathroom floor everytime you tried to open or close it. We couldn't hear our next-door neighbors, so the walls were thick enough, BUT we could hear the people above us walking around. I think the floors were very thin--walking up the stairs gave us the impression that there was little in the way of support or muffling. When the people above us got up during the night to go to the bathroom, it sounded like they were stomping around in heavy boots.
The breakfast was the usual "Continental" fare, but the Belgian Waffle maker was a very nice touch.
The location was OK. It's quite close to the Erie airport and Presque Island, but there are no sidewalks or other places to walk. There was an Applebee's Restaurant up the road a bit and a wonderful Ice Cream place across the street (Bruster's).
Many places in Erie are much cheaper, so I don't think the Comfort Inn was worth the higher room rates that they charge.

“Excellent Location”

Comfort Inn

We stayed in this hotel (Room 323) on June15th on our return from a five-night Canada trip. We used Choice Privileges points for this stay without any problem. There was no extra charge for our pre-requested rollaway and it was in the room upon our arrival. It was evident from the hotel directory that this hotel had been changed over to a Comfort Inn from a Hampton Inn. We asked and were informed that the change had occurred in May of this year.

Room was large, clean with good TV and large bathroom. Shower was excellent.

Only a few mild problems were that the elevator was very slow, the ice machine on our floor didn't work well so we had to go down to the second floor for ice. They have a very good and free (which was welcomed after five nights of no free breakfasts in Canada) hot and cold breakfast, which includes the homemade waffle irons, eggs, sausage and biscuits. Unfortunately another guest snatched up the last egg in the place and I was informed that they had already used all of their eggs. This was at 9:30 a.m. with only 30 minutes left for breakfast but they should have enough to last until the breakfast ends.

Desk staffs were professional in a mildly impersonal way.

Great location for what we wanted to do on our one night stay. Waldameer Park and Presque Isle State Park are only a few minutes away. If you’re in the area make sure you check out Sally's and Sara's located at the entrance of Presque Isle. Great 50's style restaurant with great Onion Rings, Hot Dogs with the natural casings like Ted's in Buffalo, burgers and shakes etc...

We would definitely not hesitate to stay in the Comfort Inn on 12th in Erie as overall we had a very good experience at this hotel.

A fairly expensive hotel but for the money, you get a nice, clean, beautifully-furnished room. Located just minutes from Waldameer amusement park and the shore of Lake Erie. There are probably cheaper options in the area but if you have the money to spend, you won't be disappointed.

I accompanied my husband on a fishing trip to Erie, Pa. While he was use to staying in "Just a room for the fishing guys," I said NO WAY!.... Just give me something comfortable, clean, and safe. I decided on the Hampton Inn, which I knew I could trust the name. We had a wonderful time, and the people were very friendly, and helpful!~ More fishing trips, I am sure!~ Hampton, we will be back!~ Satisified In PA! Patti Ludrosky
