“good package deal with the water park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

The hotel is 25 feet from the water park and connected inside with a nice room with a real kitchenette. There are a lot of kids in the hotel so there can be some running up and down the halls but since it might be your kids that is no problem. The breakfast had 3-4 waffle makers so no wait to make your fresh waffles which were quite good. Just arrive early and don't have far to go the next day so you can maximize time at the water park. Lots of chain restaurants close by to eat at. I'll be going again with my wife and 7 year old.

My husband and I just recently stayed the weekend at the Residence Inn in Erie, PA. We took our daughter to Splash Lagoon, which is attached to the hotel. She was very cranky by the time we got there and tried to have her go in the water so we figured she needed a nap. The hotel staff was very curteous and allowed us an early check in so that we could let our daughter sleep. The room was very clean and we were even given a first floor room as they thought we'd like to be close to the entrance for Splash Lagoon. They serve breakfast every day until 10 I believe, which was very good (my husband thought it was the best he's had at a hotel.). Check out was very easy and the staff even reached out to us to see if there was anything they could do to make our stay better. The pool area was also very clean and the water very warm. We would definitely stay here again and are already talking about returning within in the next few years!

We came here with 2 small children after a day at the beach...getting into the building was a stuggle! They need automatic doors. We then checked into our room and on the surface it looked great! The bedroom was small...had to put our pack n play for the baby right under the air vent. We asked for extra towels...did not get them. The bed was very uncomfortable. The pull out couch was so uncomfortable...we could not use it for my 3 year old. The MAJOR issue I had was while walking into the kitchen area...I stepped on something sharp and let out a yelp. After the second time this happened to me (this time drew blood and a scream from me) we realized the tack strip was exposed...so this now meant my 10 month old could not crawl around...and we all had to wear shoes the rest of the time in the room. Not at all able to relax or let my children be "free" in the room. I brought it to the attention to the front desk...and her reply was...I guess someone will have to get a hammer. Really? The next BIG problem was the breakfast. We stayed at this hotel and paid 202 dollars for one night and expected to take advantage of the free breakfast. We went down on a Sunday... 3 times. It was so crowded, definitley NOT enough space for a hotel that caters to families, no high chairs available and the food was always out! We went down for the last attempt at 9:45 (they stop at 10) and there was still no way we were getting in. They need to expand the space, more food (I could not comment on the quality because we never got any) and longer hours on the weekend! We come to this area quite frequently and really wanted to love this hotel...sadly we did not. The staff was friendly and we did enjoy the pool area.

The whole town of Erie is really sweet. We arrived late on a Monday, which was good as the hotel commented that they "always" sell out every weekend. We were two sisters with four kids (19 months, 8, 12, and 14) between us. The room was absolutely PERFECT for our needs: one king sized bed in its own room, two doubles in the other bedroom, one pull-out couch.... and two HUGE jacuzzi tubs in each bathroom.

The check-in was great, the staff consistently professional and exceedingly helpful. Didn't have time to use the pool, but everyone in our group that it looked like a lot of fun. The breakfast was complete, although the space was a bit crowded.

We always choose Residence Inns whenever possible for the space, the kitchen, the bed configuration, the breakfast--and the absolute assurance that is definitely 100% smoke free. (I hate it when the room is non-smoking, but the ventilation of the whole hotel is connected, and you smell smoke all night anyway. What's the point?)

Ah, also right next to many restaurants and a Walmart, in case you have forgotten anything.

GREAT choice! Pick a week day if you can!

Room Tip: Only stopped on the first floor, but it was very quiet

We came here with two other families for a three day trip to Splash Lagoon. We had two 1-bedroom suites and a 2-bedroom suite. The rooms were very clean and very nicely done. Not a ton of room but they fit everything in that they needed to. The fireplace was a really nice touch. We had a couple of mishaps and each time the hotel quickly rectified the situation. They were extremely friendly.

Breakfast was good but one of the days the place was too crowded and just couldn't hold the amount of people that were there. The area was a mess and they ran out of some food but they were doing their best to keep up. The staff was very helpful there even with the throng.

The pool was a major disappointment. We had gone to Splash Lagoon for two days and it was incredible. Our final day there we figured we would hang out by the hotel pool which looked nice in pictures. The area was nice and it also had a hot tub and sauna but the room was FREEZING and the pool was even colder. It was unbearable and we couldn't go swimming. Everyone ended up huddled in the sauna trying to warm up. We brought this to the attention of the staff but the guy there seemed to think it was a normal temperature and wouldn't do anything about it.

Room Tip: The first floor by the lobby has tons of people walking through it to get to the attached waterpark.

When my mom and I arrived the staff was friendly and helpful. They honored my request of a first floor, close to the entrance room for my mom who has some mobility issues. The room was clean and nicely appointed. I was very late getting back to the hotel on the morning of the race, I requested late check out which was granted at noon. I really wanted to shower before the long drive home but we didn't get back from the race until 12:15! The desk staff graciously agreed to let me stay, as long as I needed, to shower and pack. I was so appreciative of them being so helpful and accommodating!!! It was a quick but great stay!
