Pickles has been around for a long time according to my memory. My dad and I stopped there for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The place is clean and neat however there was no host/hostess on duty it seemed like the manager had to pop outta his office quick to seat us. But he did so promptly. For a Friday afternoon the restaurant was not crowded for lunch. They had one waitress on, she was run a little ragged and busy with the several tables that where in there eating, it was apparent she was serving the whole dining room alone. Service was very slow for lunch for a burger and chicken sandwich. So I'm guessing only one person in the kitchen as well. But the food arrived, it was hot and fresh and done correctly, and the burger was huge. And she was was on top of getting us refill on our sodas. They seem to have a large beer selection too. Don't know about the hit or miss aspect of it, the few times Ive been there over the years its been good.
