“Good Value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

Tough to find affordable lodging in this area during the summer. This was a good find. It is pretty retro, but very clean and well maintained. The staff was helpful and cheerful. No amenities, but if you are looking for an inexpensive stay in this part of PA, you could do a lot worse.

Room Tip: go for the "new" section, nearest the office.

I always stay here when visiting my home town, the older rooms are cute little duplexes, clean & remodeled, the newer ones in the back R also clean & more modern, close to AM track but no trains in PM

Room Tip: Rooms in back are newer but more $ There is no fitness center or kids activities.

The hotel is very basic and affordable. The older style single room (divided cottages) are OK for short stays, but for longer stays get the bigger room. The single room had a small little microwave and refrigerator but was very basic beyond that little perk. The location is better than the Holiday but if you need something from the staff be sure to get on them right away. Overall I had a nice affordable stay.

This was my second stay at this motel after finding it on Trip Advisor. It is half the price of the other place in town. I have stayed in the "new section"-probably 40 years old. But the rooms are clean. The t.v. is awesome. There are many channels for those of us who love to channel surf.

The only other place in town was full. I read the reviews of The Red Rose and decided to take a chance. I am glad that I asked for the new section. The room was probably 40 years old but it was clean and large enough. The beds were comfortable. The towels were good. The TV service was a dish. I have never seen so many stations-everything from MSNBC to the local college station. There are place to eat near-by which is helpful if you are traveling and do not know the area.

I needed a cheap place to stay for a family wedding and this place was perfect. It was right in the area with food and gas nearby, the rate was inexpensive, and the quality of the room was good. The bed was comfy, although the a/c didn't work (the heat did though!) I would recommend bringing a pair of flip flops for the shower (I'm a germ freak) but it was actually very clean. There was a family staying in the room next to me, but I didn't have any issues with noise at all. I would definitely come back again and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay that's worth the (little) money.
