“Absolutely super place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

We stayed at this wonderful B&B for one night as part of a three night break over the half term holidays. It is an absolutely delightful place to stay. My two children have been talking about it ever since, and it was definitely their favourite overnight stay out of the three we were away! We stayed in the Garden Room which was perfect for a family of four. The layout of the room is fabulous, with a little lounge area and super bathroom. Everything is spotlessly clean, and there is a lovely attention to detail. The house itself is stunning, and the setting beautiful. Look out for the spectacular night stars on a cloudless evening! Hosts Yvonne and Bob are absolutely lovely and very welcoming. A special thank you to them for the birthday gift for our daughter Abi which was waiting for her on the breakfast table! This is a really outstanding B&B and we will certainly aim to return for a longer stay next time. Very highly recommended!

Room Tip: The Garden Room is absolutely perfect for a family of four!

My wife and I were doing a cycling tour along the Hadrian's Cycleway. We stayed for one night in the "Green Room" at the Westfield B&B in August 2013. On arrival, Yvonne welcomed us and locked our bikes up in the garage. She showed us to our room, which was very comfortable. There was Freeview TV and WiFi (excellent signal). There was a separate 'sitting room' area in our room, with a sofa and coffee table. There was a mini fridge with fresh milk for the tea and coffee. There was even a pair of towelling bath robes. Yvonne recommended the pub over the road for food, and we weren't disappointed. We had a very comfortable night's sleep. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, with a range of cereals, fruit juice, toast and croissants, yoghurt, full cooked English, or Scottish kippers. We didn't eat anything else until 3.00 in the afternoon. All in all, I would throughly recommend it.

Can't say anything negative about this B & B. Better than some hotels we have stayed in. Couldn't have chosen better for our 2 nights. Comfortable room, friendly atmosphere and the breakfasts were excellent, enough to last us all day as we enjoyed the historical sites around Hexham. Will definately be staying here again when we are in the area. If you want a nice evening meal you only have to walk across the road to the Red Lion.

We just had a lovely stay in the "Garden Room" at the Westfield on 1 June 2013.
Yvonne was really helpful and accommodating. My son has special needs and a restrictive diet so staying in B&Bs can be very challenging but I phoned ahead and Yvonne was able to help. So we could all have a stress free stay!
The view from the room was amazing - so peaceful. We had a lovely cup of tea, sat up in bed, gazing at the lovely rural scene - glorious.
The room was spotlessly clean, beds very comfortable and breakfast included the most delicious scrambled eggs that I've ever had, ever!
Thanks Yvonne and Bob for a super stay - I think we'll be back.

Room Tip: The Garden room has a lovely view and its own entrance.

We stayed at the Westfield on 21 May and had a very pleasant experience. Yvonne made us very welcome when we arrived and showed us to our large and very private room. The room was big with a king-size bed at one end and, on a split level, a sitting area with sofa, tv and coffee/tea-making equipment and a small fridge. It actually felt very luxurious and it would be a pity to use the place only as an overnight stopover! Excellent breakfast the following morning cooked to perfection by Yvonne. There's also a very good pub right next door where you can get good quality food in the evening (except Mondays, apparently). Nothing else in the village.

Have just returned from a three night stay at this lovely bed and breakfast. Yvonne the owner made us feel at home and was very welcoming. We are a family of three and stayed in the very comfortable, warm garden room. The view over garden and fields was very pretty, horses, sheep, cats and one morning a pheasant! The room was very spacious with fantastic shower. Breakfast was delicious, with a very good choice. Nice pub opposite for dining, except for Mondays I think. As another reviewer pointed out, Yvonne pointed this out when we were booking, however there is another place to eat a few miles down the road.
