Cafe Del Mar, Stockertown, PA September 5, 2009

It is sad to have to report that a once above average restaurant with interesting and delicious dishes is now average at best. I am not sure if they lost their chef or had a change in management, but Cafe del Mar was very disappointing. The salmon dish was dried out to the point of lacking any flavor and the scallops were also very ordinary. The salads were composed of iceberg lettuce and not much else. Fortunately, the bread was still good, the only highlight of the evening.
It is still has a good atmoshere and the bar area and drinks are worth a trip, I can only hope they hire a better chef.
