As I booked online I had not spoken to anyone from the hotel, then on the way up our GPS stopped working and I had to call for quick directions and was very pleased to have William at the front desk bring us right in. Once we came into the hotel William greeted us by name and with a smile asking if his directions were helpful, and yes they were! He then helped to get us into our room and explained a lot of the local attractions and discounts that we could get at those attractions. Our room was clean and comfortable, not the Ritz Carlton, but for the price a very comfortable room and we had no complaints. The grounds were clean and comfortable, and it is very apparent that they are actively working on improvements. We were very happy with the kind and competent staff and will return. A great getaway at a great price!

I stayed at the Fernwood this past week for work. You can tell the main outside building has been renovated as well as the pool area. Landscaping looks good. Go inside the hotel building, and you just went back in time to I'm guessing late 1980's to early 1990's. Just as the other reviews described, dirty fixtures and carpet, black silt coming out of the shower, toilet and sink, old TV with snowy picture. The mattress was old with just a thin sheet on top. I ended up sleeping on the bathroom towels. You can see other hotel buildings on the property that have been let go and are an eyesore.

I know the facility has new owners and are trying to bring back the hotel. I think they need to gut the rooms before letting people stay there. They are too far gone and gross at this point. I know I won't go back there again.

We stayed at the Villas at Fernwood for 3 days. The place is not a four or five star resort. However, for a family of four it provided enough space without us being on top of each other. We get the ez card for $100 but didn't utilize any of the resort facilities especially after trying to have dinner at the bbq restaurant and waiting almost 20 minutes for someone to even approach us for a drink order. After complaining to front desk and them telling us they couldn't do anything about it we figured why get stressed out while on our mini vacation.
In regards to the condition of the villa everything was working properly, it could of use some updating but it did serve it's purpose well for us. Would I stay again? For the price which I felt was high I would choose a different resort to enjoy my time.

We stayed there the first weekend in June. The decor could use some upgrading. I wasn't sure what the ice block window was hiding, maybe it was a good thing that it was there. the room was clean, linens fresh. the shower had 2 small curtains instead of one and when you turned the temp selector to cold it was hot. The biggest thing was in th emorning there was NO hot water. At checkout the lady said it was because of everyone trying to shower at once. Come on people this is a hotel...
