“Peruvian but Poconovian”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

Inti serves very good Peruvian food but an equal attraction is the couple who own it and run it.They make everything from scratch, use family recipes, and the accent is on big portions and fair prices. BYOB is the only drawback.

“Definitely deserves being # 1 with Certificate of Excellence!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2014

We choose this restaurant based on the Tripadvisor rating, and were very glad we did. We drove an hour extra to eat here, and it was worth it. We will definitely be back. This is the best Peruvian cuisine we have ever had. The portion sizes were just right. The owner takes a personal interest in serving and making sure you are happy with your meal. He goes 'above and beyond'. His dad is the chef, and what a chef he is! If you want the best athentic Peruvian, come here!
We had a drink that had purple corn in it, little pieces of fruit cut up served in a carafe. Excellent drink. We started out with their Causa limena which is mashed potato layers stuffed with Peruvian style chicken salad, fresh tomato and avacado, toped with huancaina sauce. Excellent. They were out of the Papa rellena, and we were glad we got this appetizer. My husband and I split two different entrees. He had the Salmon maracuya which was delicious. The salmon was tender the passion fruit maracuya sauce excellent. The rice on the side was good. I ordered the Inti tacu tacu. Excellent. It is pan fried rice mixed with beans puree, garlic, onion and yellow Peruvian chilli peppers topped with breaded thin steak, a fried egg and lemon juice marianted onions. The sliced deep-fried sweet plantains it comes with were the best plantains we ever had.
For desert we split their Helado de lucama which is Lucama ice cream. It is delicately flavored tropical fruit native from the highlands of South America. It was the first time we had this flavor, and we would get it again.
This restaurant is definitely worth coming to. Hard to beat when one can get the best of food, service and atmosphere! There is a Popcorn Buddha place next door that has loads of different popcorn flavors and fresh yummy fudge.

“Amazing Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2014

Friends of ours rave about Inti. We had never been there and it's easy to miss if you don't know where it is. Looks like nothing from the outside, but inside, it's very tastefully decorated and surprisingly roomy. Can't judge a book by it's cover. Having never experienced Peruvian Cuisine, we didn't know what to expect. From the non-alcoholic drinks to desert, all the dishes are unique and true to their roots. The food was delicious, pleasing to the eye as well as the palate. The owner greets you and it's like being welcomed into their home instead of a restaurant. I can't say enough about Inti except to urge anyone who is looking for a truly exceptional evening to go.

“Dinner near ski Shawnee.”

Great food in a pleasant atmosphere with excellent service. The owner treats you like a best friend. Very generous portion size and BYOB a plus. Interesting tastes and flavor make it a must stop in the Poconos.
