“Great Service and Pleasant Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

I have been to Penn Taproom 3 times this past week with both family and friends. The service is great and the outside dining are is quite nice. The service was consistently good on each visit which can be hard to pull off, but they did it. The filet mignon sandwich was great as was the veggie wrap. My favorite is the oysters on the half shell. My only disappointment was that they were out of the oysters on my last visit. The beer assortment is nice as well. I would definitely recommend Penn Taproom.

“Primo! A cut above the usual!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

There are brew Pubs galore these days. As many as there are casual restaurants. But Penn Tap room chooses their brews with style and taste. The really fine food is made in the kitchen (including such niceties as home-made chips) with flare and finesse, and served with the same flare and finesse by servers who actually enjoy their work! Think about that one! How often have we been at the mercy of bartenders and servers who seem to think we'd prefer to peruse their backs? How many reviews state "It was many minutes before our waitress turned around and acknowledged our presence"? Even worse with a bartender.
Add to all of this goodness is a true patio for outdoor dining. With flowers! And trees! Al fresco dining should not be on sidewalks where gawking strollers check out you food. And if you're in one of those "Outdoor Dining" jokes next to the road,or heaven forbid a stop sign or light; Do you really enjoy exhaust in your food? None of that here in this patio/garden.
As a matter of fact, it is so pleasant in all of these ways, that the guests follow suit by being a more interesting, more gracious and well, less drunk crowd. Come here for the fine food, the pleasant atmosphere, and superb beers, wines and cocktails.

“Great place for late night drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

After dinner elsewhere, my wife and I were looking for a place to get a night cap. Most of Doylestown rolls up the sidewalks at midnight (except for the younger hangouts), during the week. We rolled into Penn Taproom, having only been there during the days on the weekends....which can be fairly busy.
The bar, we found out, is the late night hangout for most of the local chefs from area restaurants. We meet some great new people, had stimulating conversations, and amazing service from our extremely friendly bar maid!
There is a superb selection of craft beers on draft, and prices are very reasonable.

“Nice for a casual meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014 via mobile

We've been to the Penn Taproom several times and enjoy it. We particularly enjoy eating outside in the warmer months. The burgers are fantastic. One person in our group had ribs and the were great - really great. The meat fell off the bone and they were delicious. The only negative is the we ordered wings and the wings arrived slathered in sauce - and not in a good way. They were incredibly messy to eat. I'm no stranger to wings and understand that messy comes with the territory, but this was excessive.

It's hard to go wrong here if your in the mood for a nice pub-style dinner.

“The best pub in Doylestown!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2014

We have revealed this pub last summer. And since that time it is our favorite place to have a dinner! Specially we love Sunday night Jazz Jam.
All staff is very friendly. Food is simple but very tasty. Excellent place!
