So my husband and I were looking for a kid friendly restaurant in Doylestown that we hadn't tried. We love caribbean food, saw toys in the restaurant and figured this would be a great idea. Whoa. I'll just highlight the biggest problems:
1. Waitress: Our children ordered juice and she brought them juice in rocks glasses. She seemed confused when I asked for a cup with a lid.
1. Waitress: No service experience, she didn't introduce herself or go over anything. I'm sorry it's 2013, I'm not asking for the moon but if I just wanted soulless take out I can find it.
2. Long wait. for everything. She also couldn't carry more than 2 plates or two glasses so everything took her so many trips. (either the restaurant should train her or invest in a server tray).
3. Food: My husband ordered a simple sandwich, which is what he got, not great but not terrible and definitely boring. Wendy's chicken sandwich would have hit the spot better. I ordered the shrimp dish (which came out after everything else), The shrimp was cooked well but the dish was without flavor, tasted much like a lean cuisine. We decided to take it with us so we could see if we could spice it up at home, another staff member said they were out of large take out boxes so gave me three small salad containers. Really? I guess they don't expect much take away business on a Friday night?
It was a 38 dollar disappointment. I'm a long time Doylestown resident and love our local food, this place does not exemplify the good local food we have. It's a shame because it would be great to have a caribbean restaurant!!!
