“Used to be good...Now not so much!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

This restaurant used to be really good when they first opened up. They took pride in it, but then the quality fell off. Then they were under new management and they improved and then then fell off again. Then they raised their prices and no longer included a drink, that is extra now. Its not the huge Shady Maple Smorgashbord. They don't have a HUGE facility, staff, and selection. It was almost $60 for 4 people to eat dinner at a BUFFET.

My August 24th visit had food on the tile floors, a manager replaced the mashed potatoes right in front of me and a plop of potatoes dropped on the floor and he just left it there and walked away. He half-heartedly wiped the counter afterward, but the mashed potatoes remained on the floor. Not exactly the example setter for the rest of the employees. The gentlemen that cuts the steaks (hispanic gentlemen) has been there for years and he maintains his wonderful personality. I'm sorry I do not remember his name.

“Keep Driving”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Went there today. Typical buffet but food was below par. I would just keep going. For kids it might be cheap but for two adults, not so much. Food was not good at all.

“Quantity, not Quality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

If you are simply looking for mere quantity of food, then this is your place. I am not a big buffet fan, but the kids wanted to try. I guess everyone goes here once, and that's probably it.

“Average Setting. Good Food. Nice small group room in back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Have gone for dinner. Large open space of tables mostly. Nothing special. Food selection was expansive and good. Have hosted men's breakfasts for my church here. Nice separate room in back for comfortably 25-40 people. Easy access to buffet. Would recommend.

“3.5 Stars - I have been to worse...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

There was a time in the distant past when Old Country Buffet was one of the best in the business, but it has not gotten cheap with its food and rapidly declined to mediocre. That being said, it is the only American food buffet in the immediate vecinity, and on nights we don't feel like cooking, it is good enough. The salad bar is pretty good. So is the soup and taco bar. The coffee and chocolate milk are pretty good too. It has the average American staples like mashed potatos, fried chicken, corn, etc. Here are the areas where, relative to other buffets I have been to, I was not impressed -
1. The mac n' cheese is basically a puddle of flavorless, cheap snot.
2. The steak is precooked in the back and then brought to a steam table up front. Someone will cut a piece off for you at the desired level of doneness. This is lame compared to places where they cut it right from the flaming grill to your plate.
3. The deserts are pretty cheap and mediocre. Their "cheesecake" is comparable to one of those boxed Jello ones.
However, the food quality is no better or worse than what I would quickly cook at home on an average night. Also, I have been to far worse buffets. The place is clean and the service has always been good. I have never had to run home to...you know...after eating here, unless it was of my own doing. (EG - Liberal use of hot sauce.) Also, there is almost always a coupon of some sort making it an OK value.

It is NOT elegant, five star dining. But it is NOT a sad, dirty, fly infested, hole in the wall that will make you sick for the next 48 hours - like some of the places I have been to in the area. It falls slightly over average...
