“Cute!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

This is a cute zoo located just of the turnpike in southwestern PA. Nice place where you can buy bags of food that you can hand feed to some of the animals, which was a lot of fun. You can feed the bears, monkeys and some of the larger animals through a tube, which was fun to watch. The park was clean and you can tell the animals were well taken care of.

“Take a hat or umbrella for shade!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

A nice little animal park out in the beautiful Laurel Highlands. We visited years ago and it is obvious the owners have continued to take care and add to the place. It has gravel paths so take care with elderly visitors. It is crushed gravel so people didn't seem to have trouble w strollers.

We had a toddler and a pre-teen with us and they enjoyed feeding the animals. It would have been fun to be able to go into the goat pen and be chased around by the voracious beasts (like at New Castle) but there was plenty of access to get close.

I'd like to see some shade trees or canopies. It was a hot day and our seniors pettered out quickly.

The gift shop(s) were extensive but they weren't pushy at all. They had a huge selection and variety - as well as a tack shop for those with horses.

“The Kids Will Love it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

I took my 7 year old granddaughter to the Living Treasures Animal Park on August 22. She absolutely loved it and is already planning on coming back since she kept saying "next time we come here...

Most of the animals are smaller and easy to feed out of your hand such as the miniature horses and cows, goats, kangaroo etc. They also have a variety of animals I either never heard of or could not pronounce.

We bought a big bag of food and it lasted us 2 laps around the park. Some animals such as the monkeys only ate the cheerios you could buy for a quarter out of the bubble gum like machines. It was fun putting them in a bucket that they would then pull across and eat. Next time we are going to bring some cheerios as they did not give you much for your quarter, maybe about 15 cheerios.

They had a buffalo, a couple bears, couple tigers, zebras, wolves that we got to hear howling, prairie dogs and there is a new exhibit where they are going to have a lion.

The miniature horses were the most fun as they would tap their hooves on the fence to get your attention to feed them.

All in all a fun way to spend about an hour and a half, lots to do nearby too with Ohiopyle, Falling Water, Seven Springs etc so if you live far it would make for a fun weekend trip.

“Small but interactive Animal Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

Not a zoo but a fun place to take children for some interactions with animals (feeding and some petting). Nice giftshop. Would not make a trip just for this but there are many other attractions nearby.
