we have had our family reunion at this family run hotel for 19 years. this july will be number 20. we usually have between 40 and 60 people. they have always treated us like family and have always gone out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. recently they added a beautiful, comfortable pavillion! at our reunions we do quite a bit of cooking and the indoor kitchen and bathrooms are fabulous! beautiful ceiling fans and bistro tables. the landscaping has always been neat as a pin. the rooms are spotless, the linens have always been clean and the breakfast has never disappointed us. plus there are so many sight seeing spots and restaurants in the area, and outdoor fun activities for the kids. i would recommend this days inn to anyone and i have. our family travels from a few different states and this location is perfect, right off the turnpike.

I recently accompanied a friend who made reservations at the Days Inn Donegal. Not having been in the area for years I checked Trip Advisor to see what the reviews were. They were not very favorable.

Fortunately our stay was. Although the place could use some remodeling, the staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. I'm not sure if the other reviewers were expecting a resort experiance but considering the area I'd say it's the best of the bunch.

We stayed at the Days Inn Donegal for two nights while visiting Fallingwater. With not so many decent choices in the area, we reluctantly booked this on-line and gave it a shot. It was just okay - certainly not great, but not the worst place that I've ever seen. The room at least was clean, although shabby and in need of renovation. I mistakenly booked the "handicapped room," and we could have danced the waltz in the bathroom -- it was so big! The continental breakfast was what you would expect for a hotel of this type - there were lots of options (bagels, waffles, fruit, cereal, danish, etc.), but none of them particularly good. It is about a 20 minute drive to Fallingwater, which wasn't bad. I probably wouldn't recommend it, but it was't terrible.

  • Disliked — Smell of bleach in the hallway

We stayed May 24, and 25, 2008. The first night we stayed, we found grass in the bed sheets, and large cob webs,we were moved to another room. The room smelled of mold, the furniture was something from the 70's, the wall paper was falling of the walls, and the ceiling was falling apart. I only stayed the second night because there was no other hotels around. The seond night my husband felt something in his bed, in the morning we pulled back the sheets only to find a spider as big around as a half dollar. Do not stay at this hotel unless your really fond of very large spiders.

My friend and I stayed here this past weekend and were very disappointed. We took a trip to Fallingwater (the Frank Lloyd Wright house). We chose the Days Inn as it was right off the turnpike and we were driving 5 hours to get there and arriving at night so wanted some place convenient to get to. The fun started when we arrived and the woman at the desk wouldn't honor the AAA rate we had booked online. She said they didn't have that rate during ski season. She also said something about there being a glitch with the website where it offers that rate when it shouldn't. We were too exhausted to argue, but this is completely ridiculous. It's their mistake and any place with decent customer service and who wants their customers to return should have given us the rate we reserved.

The fun continued when we got to our room. After settling in, I turned on the TV to discover there was a large black box covering 90% of the screen and rendering the TV unwatchable. My friend went to take a shower and found the hot water disappeared before she finished. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom had mold, and there were cobwebs in the room.

I will say the pillows were very comfortable, but that didn't make up for the rest of our frustrations. If visiting Fallingwater or going skiing, stay at one of the local B&B's or find another hotel.

Clean and comfy. Friendly staff. I was surprised with the large room... after traveling all day it was nice to have a little space in which to move. I'll try more Day's Inn locations based upon our stay here.

The only positive thing about this Days Inn was the woman who checked us in (not sure if she was the manager or not). She was very cheery and accommodating. However, the rooms (we had two adjacent rooms) were attrocious. They SMELLED - of smoke - even though they were supposed to be non-smoking - mold, mildew and who knows what else. They were dirty, dingy, the pipes made ungodly noise when the water was run, and one of our front doors didn't close properly. The pillows were lumpy, the linens and furniture looked like they'd been there for 30 years. The only reason we didn't leave and go somewhere else is there were no other motels nearby and we were exhausted. Take my advice and don't end up in Donegal late on a Saturday night. Keep driving no matter how tired you are! Or better yet, make sure and do your research ahead of time - that was our mistake. Definitely made us think twice about staying at another Days Inn.
