My husband and I enjoyed spending 2 nights at Nest Bed. Situated on a very private piece of property, the views from this beautiful house leave you feeling as though you are nestled in a clearing deep in the woods. The style of the home is quite unique and the colorful décor and furnishings are comfortable and inviting. The cozy wood burning stove in the kitchen adds to the warmth of this inn, truly creating a homey atmosphere. Marko and Sally’s dog, Tulo, is gentle, affectionate and well behaved – I dare you not to fall in love with him.
Our accommodations didn’t disappoint – the room & bath were immaculate, the bed was super comfy, the down pillows and comforter were oh so snuggly, and the steam shower was heavenly. Snow had started to fall just as we arrived, which made the views from our room especially beautiful and peaceful.
We booked Nest Bed’s Weekend Deluxe package, which included a couples massage and dinner with wine. The massages took place in the home’s private 3rd floor massage studio and were arranged in advance based on our preference. One quick word of advice, if you opt for the in house massage, don’t forget to pack a robe or wrap like we did(!).
By far, the most enjoyable part of our experience at Nest Bed was the dinner prepared for us by our hosts. Marko and Sally chose to join us for dinner, although they would also have gladly allowed us to dine in private had that been our preference. It was truly a wonderful evening. Our four course meal was delicious, the wine was a perfect accompaniment and the easy conversation we shared with Marko and Sally made it feel as though we were visiting with good friends or close family. What we thought would be just a meal with a bottle of wine turned into over 4 hours of story-telling, camaraderie and honest-to-goodness laughter. There could have been no better way to spend a quiet, relaxing evening.
Just as our dinner was delightful, Sally’s breakfasts were equally tasty. Fresh squeezed orange juice, fruit parfaits with Greek yogurt, croissant French toast, homemade banana bread, scrumptious apple wood smoked bacon … everything was perfectly prepared and simply delicious.
Our weekend at Nest Bed was easily the most enjoyable bed and breakfast experience we have had. Marko and Sally were wonderful hosts and we can’t thank them enough for giving us such fond memories of our 2 nights in their home. We look forward to visiting them and Tulo again, as well meeting Tulo’s new brother, Frodo.
